X-T1

Panasonic 20mm was released on 2009 and Fuji 35mm on 2012? Why not compare the Fuji 35mm to Olympus 17mm?

Well a refreshed 20mm launched in 2013 was just as slow.

"fastest AF" to me is just an attention grabber. Fuji has come a long way since X100 / X-pro 1. With the X-T1, AF speed is very usable. There is still room for improvement for sure, especially in low light and AF tracking, maybe cross-type PDAF pixel sensors will help. AF performance now is hardly a deal breaker for most except perhaps the pros shooting NBA.

Marketing gimmick. Usually comes with fine print which will indicate testing conditions and lens used. Every new body launched also world's fastest af. After X-T1, A6000 also world's fastest.

But mirrorless cameras have come a long way to reach such speed and accuracy. Which should be good and fast enough for most users.

free 27mm unable to register warranty ?

call up the fuji show room, and tell them you just got the 27mm. saw some report that the units are so new, the serial numbers not updated or something.

The refreshed 20mm was just a cosmetic change.

That's what I wanna point out..

Cause i do not quite understand why u pointed out the year of release for the lens..

Newer lens so newer tech so the af must be faster?

for the 50-230mm lens, is it normal to hear some noise when u shake the lens gentle left and right ?

my point is 17mm is a legitimate newer lens released in the same year as the fuji 35mm. why arent you comparing the 35mm to this lens? instead you want to insist in an old 20mm lens which just have a facelift..

Thread is gone, what was it about?

Ok ... That was fast. Someone offering to bring in import sets at a pace of 1 set per week, more of a dealer if u ask me :/

I think that was oldfox. LOL. Was a bit stunned to read that but interesting to note that JB prices are slightly better than SG's?

do u happen to have their number as well ?

i've used the x-t1 and 18-55 kit lens and flash that came with it to cover a family event. time 10am-3pm. it is a clubhouse with no walls so the light source is the sun. it's quite bright in the clubhouse.almost everything is at F4, played with auto iso and shutter. here's my experience so far.

at times, the camera seems to have a problem "waking from sleep mode." i'm not shooting all the time during the event and i dont turn off the camera. it seems to have an issue resuming its operation. just black LCD and EVF. fuxed by turning off the camera then back on.

Focusing. I previuosly used a d800 and i find that the X-t1 focus does not focus to the subject i want. i turned off the face detection during the event. i'm not sure if i should have turned it on. but after a couple of tries half pressing, it gets it. i dont want to define the focus point because i have a hard time pressing the navigation buttons. anyway, i might still not used to the settings so this might not be helpful at all.

images. im impressed. i'll upload some after i'm back. i dont plan doing any post processing since i shot on jpg. no camera raw yet, right?

i hope this issue can be addressed with a new firmware

Have this laggy and slow wake up from sleep mode with my XE1 as well and my friend who uses the XPro1 also mentioned that it is so with his.

Usually happens after the camera has gone into sleep mode and in order to "quickly" wake the camera up I switch it on and off again like you did.

Seems to be the norm for the X-series

i won't mind if its just laggy. but some of the button isnt responsive either

I dont know whether I should say this here...

My friend is at IT Show, the XT1 is going at 2390, dual lens (kit and the XC50-230mm), free SD card, and blah blah blah, same like those mentioned earlier (photo frame + something else)

Does it comes with the 27mm as well?

Yep. No response whatsoever. Just a black screen. Like it's just off. So I simply switch off and on again.
