X-T1

still contemplating if i will get it. i just dont like the free zoom lens, it will just sit in my dry cabinet for sure.

U can sell it to off set the price for the camera

just dont like fuji not to launch weathers sealing lenses together with the body as a kit. this is more like business trick. so if you want to full use of the system with ws, you have to upgrade in future for all the lenses.
unlike the omd em1 which kit with 12-40 ws pro lens. of course the price will be higher but it is worth!

Agreed. The EVF is wow too. Feels like using a highpoint vf! There is sill a little tiny bit of lag between shots .. Pretty much the best in the current market though compared to my a7r.

They truly improved on the EVF. But it's still not as good as Olympus or Sony IMHO.

And to keep harping on the notion that "no other brand gave you this sort of EVF before Fuji" by the presenters yesterday... I kinda felt that they were trying too hard to sell the camera to newbies. Thumbs down on that part treating customers like idiots.

But overall. Managed to test out the camera. I would say that it doesn't give me the same "damn this is fantastic" feel as my A7R, but still it's a fantastic camera to have if you understand the legacy of fujifilm and enjoy manual shooting

I am considering the XT1 as one of my first foray into mirrorless (amongst others like the A7/R), in which way(s) are the Fuji EVF less capable than Oly/Sony?

Also, less fantastic in which way? The focusing? Its built quality? Image clarify? For those who went for the preview yesterday, do share your opinions!

If anyone is giving up the fuji x-t1 launch offer please pm me. I am interested to buy the camera
Thanks!!

Any idea when is the XT-1 hitting the shelves?

It seems a little dull to me, although refresh rate is fast like Olympus and Sony.

I guess it's the weight. It feels too light and the grip is a little small.

To some extent it's to each his own. I prefer this EVF to the a7/r EVF. Feels a lot brighter and easier to see compared to Sony's. Functions wise, if you like Fuji's implementation, you will like this camera definitely. I would say the strength of this camera lies in the ecosystem as well. Tried some of the lenses yesterday and analyzed the images at home. 56mm 1.2 is definitely one of the best so far I've seen. Body feels about the same as A7, I like it better though. Focusing accuracy wise, when using a thin dof lens like 56mm 1.2, it did get a bit tricky trying to focus on smaller objects, a few misses here and there. I am not sure how it'll pan out as fuji matures, but I would probably get it solely cause it has better lenses and a more pleasing colour compared to sony's colour (which is subjective I know). IQ wise I think a7 might still be on the stronger end (not sure by how much, gotta test it when I have both).

I agree that olympus feels faster still though (focusing wise the EM1 is seriously a blazing demon). I love the light weight tbh, just that it might get front heavy with a big lens. Highly recommend the battery grip it feels much better with it I think.

i suggest you go down to the showroom at funan to try it out. with exception of a few of us who had the privilege to try out the X-T1 extensively before the launch yesterday, probably any opinions offered here are highly subjective, based on the few minutes of hands-on time yesterday. if you really want to get a good feel of the camera before committing, it would be wiser to go and try it out first. in any case, the fuji showroom at funan is pretty cool abt people trying. no one is gonna disturb you or pester you. really.

also, each manufacturer has their own formula regarding the implementation of EVFs. if you really have to compare, it would be fairer to comparer within the same brand rather than across brands. FWIW, the X-T1 is a couple of steps up compared to my X-E1, from built to the AF speed and EVF. fuji colours/image is uniquely fuji. most users would like to claim that fuji cameras just give better OOC jpgs. based on my own experience with fuji cameras (from the days of S2pro...) i do like fuji images. then again, this is personal taste.

bottom line - just go to funan to try. ;)

Xt1 not avail at funan showroom yet.. Was there on Saturday..

i love Fuji Colors too, and my opinion stems from almost 1 hour of playing with the camera (i waited until almost everyone left and was there for quite long).

not just a few minutes.

but preference is preference. as for me, i wouldn't buy this camera as an addition because it doesn't wow me enough i guess.

Wow. Same price as Full Frame Sony A7.

The IQ will need to be as good. APS-C vs FF.

I wonder how many of us here can tell the difference between the two.

another thing to consider are the native lenses available.

for the FF mirrorless systems, for the economy of size, their 24-70 and 70-200 will tend to be f/4, whereas the smaller sensors (APS-C and M43) can still get a f/2.8, in a reasonable compact lens. but understand that different users will have different mileage on this, in compensating for the 1-stop difference or DoF or even using the larger f/2.8 adapted lenses. (eg from the alpha-mount)... but that's why there'd is no 1 perfect system, each having their own strengths / merits.

Fujifilm have scheduled the release of their 16-55 f/2.8 and 50-140 f/2.8 (roughly equivalent to the 24-70 and 70-200) for later this year, which should be exciting news for the (and potential) X-mount users.

souce: Fujifilm

if you're getting a mirrorless camera to mount others lenses on (eg Leica M mounts), your considerations may be different, full optical view rather than just the centre crop. but consider the digital split image for focusing on the fujifilm x-series cameras, which to me is dream to use compared to the focus peaking. that been said, that may well be a technology which other cameras may be able to implement at some point.

Fujifilm giving offer to tgose who attended the pre launch. 2499 for kit and a 27mm lens and 50-230 xc lens. Dont kbow if good deal. 27mm is going for 199 in us.

But only forv those who went for pre launch. 400 dollars discount for the 18-135mm.

But in malaysia they are giving 27mm and 18 mm free with xA1.

a fellow forum member allowed me to use his letter and I bit the bullet...the deal looks too good as they show RRP but still good as the 27mm is quoted to me in SG for 599. the XC tele is not too bad either according to few published reviews so should come handy for certain areas

I guess the sales area will be flooded with xc 55-230, 27 and 18-55 lenses in March ;)

Anyone with the letter but don't intend to purchase it? Really interested in this camera. PM me or text me at 90292724.

Can the letter be photocopied?

the letters are unique in a sense as they have serial numbers thus I would be surprised that a dealer who produced the letter would accept a photocopy, as someone wrote many left the letters there without intending to use and it would have been great if they would have taken them just to make people here happy

You mean duplicate letters? It all depends on how strict they implement it I guess, integrity aside.
