After going for the session yesterday, I must say that most of us probably don't need it as it's more of a lesson on the fundamentals of photography, rather than a workshop regarding your new purchase.

Nevertheless, it was fun getting to know new people and I also gained an interesting perspective on how the speaker shoots without post processing at all, so to him, prepping the shot is where all the work is done.
After looking at some samples, I was pretty inspired.. Lol

Was at showroom trying out.. Shooting bypassers.. Switched focus to "c" mode + continuous ch shooting. Followed targets on the center focus box.. All shots out of focus.. Is this normal or more settings needs to be set?

I have issue with afc also. Lens will keep hunting no matter what. Don't know if it's normal or not.

I think the camera is at default setting which is "Release priority". You need to change it to "Focus priority".

Based on my experience on S5pro (D200 body), AFC is continuous AF that's why it will focus continuously.

Actually I've found out that you just need to trust the camera and depress the shutter while in AFC mode.

When you half press in AFC, the camera will constantly hunt back and forth around your subject's focus distance.. But when you finally activate the shutter, it focuses in an instant to where your focus point is.. A bit strange (and annoying) but that's how it works..

just checked at one camera shop in HKG for the price of XT-1 + 56mm f1.2 = HKD 18,000. XT-1 + 18-55mm = HKD 13,000. Stocks are really limited.

Based on my prior experience of buying Fuji cameras, sets covered by international warranty should come with an international warranty card. And that card needs to be issued from the same country of purchase. Eg if u bought from a HK dealer u need a see a international warranty card issued by Fuji HK, not Fuji Malaysia or Thailand etc. There are many grey sets being sold so it pays to be careful about these things.

The set comes with Fuji Malaysia International warranty card.
The seller comes highly recommended coz he is doing it full time and his shop is authorised Fuji dealer in Malaysia.
Only thing is you have to pay him in cash and agree on meeting place and time in advanced as he stays in Puchong, outskirt of KL.
He told me he sold a few sets to Singaporean buyers.
Well S$400 savings is a lot, if you're willing to travel up north to KL.

I used to use the Gariz for my previous camera which was the XM1. Then found that when you mounted the XF55-200 on it and used a tripod, the entire camera+lens would bend downwards after tightening the ball head as the weight of the lens would exert a downward force on the camera body making the leather/metal base flex.

This made adjustment a real pain.

For the XT1, I ended up with the MHG-XT1 which is a lot more rigid. However, if you're only using lighter lenses with the system, it's a real beauty of a case.

Wow.. I need to try this out to see.. What I like is that it extends the grip to accommodate my last finger..

Could it be that the plate of the Gariz is not fastern properly to the base of the cam?

I think I get what veloblur is trying to say.. For cases like that, a heavy lens will most definitely cause some instability since we're looking multiple connection points between the camera body and the tripod base plate.

The MHG-XT, on the other hand, is a dream to use. It does make the whole package a little more heavy, but the better handling definitely makes it worth it. Not to mention that I can use my blackrapid and still have space on either side of the connector to mount the camera on an arca swiss plate, since the grip's metal base is so long.
