Great advice.I was doing a bit of research. I would say the 18 mm F2 doesn't meet my expectation for landscape in terms of image quality? How do you all go around it?
If you do landscape, there are few options. For auto focus, there are zeiss 12mm, Fuji xf14mm and what eleveninth recommend the xf10-24mm which will be out around dec and early 14. For manual focus, you can use your existing nikon lens with adapter, but I feel that it defeat the purpose for having such a big lens. For IQ, you can search in Flickr for keyword such as x-pro1, xf14mm, zeiss 12mm Fuji x mount etc. Looking through sample picture will be more convincing. Some may have uploaded full Res picture for your pixel peeking.Great advice.I was doing a bit of research. Thanks. I did a quick research. Seems like the IQ for 14 mm is better than the 18 mm.![]()
But for the files i have seen, much of them do not have the bit depth. Can i say that the X-Pro 1 and XE-1/2 are suited more for street photography?
Don't get me wrong. I am impressed w this camera esp the 35 n 60 mm lens. Just trying to understand it. I can see how the 35 and 60 mm easily meet commercial standards but a bit disappointed w the wide angles and bit depth. It's something that I must learn to accept lor. Also asking around how you guys overcome it.![]()

Oh. Medium format are 16 bit. 35 mm Nikon n Canon are at 14 bit. I think M4/3 are 14 or lower. When u under or over expose w a higher bit depth, you can recover them easily. This is even w the jpegs of medium format. The files can take lots of thrashing w/o being 'broken'. For landscaping, recovery of the shadows n highlights are important. If I were to get the X-Pro 1, I need to adjust n adapt myself n not over expect. Having said that, it does bring back the fun back to photographyI just don't want to keep so many cameras leh. Haha
