while i still considering if i should get this X-drive..
what is the HDD size that u all prefer? 10GB? 20GB?
40GN is 4200rpm, 60GH is 5400rpm, of cos 5400rpm is better....but i dun think it will matters when u use it for image tank
cos the read/write should be sequemtial and not much random access, so faster rpm doesn't affect the reading speed much
however, if u use it on a notebook, then the different will be more significant cos there are more random access.
let me go check out the spec...may be 5400rpm version use up more power??
later i will go simlim and see how cheap i can get for 20 pcs of HDD.

however, 4200rpm have longer latency (2ms) than 5400rpm
from the spec the seek time is the same, however i believe 4200rpm should be a bit slower.

No panic, IT users
So far IT serves me well. And I can tell u some reasons for not upgrading.
1. X-drive has no USB2.0 compatibility, so speed wise no much improvement;
2. Although the mobile batt. pack of IT looks troublesome, it uses normal AA rechargable batts, which I have plenty with me, I can be sure always have enough power. As to the X-driver, if u forget charging, u may have problem.
3. I am sure a better product will be coming soon, which may have file verification, TV screening functions at the similar price ...
Bottomline: if u have IT, no need to upgrade. Otherwise, X-drive is a good buy.
