is it very durable, shock resistant? or that's the responsibility of the HDD maker?

troublesome to recharge the battery all the time?

easy to remove the HDD?

Not worth it.

A 20GB IBM 40GN (5400rpm) drive costs around $160-170 in simlim. Note that its a higher end drive, it spins at 5400rpm compared to 4x00rmp.
