X-10 Accessories Thread II

Guys, just to check with those using thumbs up, does it block the mode dial and will it cause some obstruction when switching the EV dial too before i order it online? Thanks in adv.

u can adjust how much u want to push the thumb grip in. for me, I place a small gap that allow me to change the mode dial. yet the thumb grip is still very steady. check out the pic and review in this blog http://www.fuzzyeyeballs.com/blog/?p=5286

Makes me want to get it after hearing so many positive comment how it helps in handling...

anyway we should organize outing for x10 users! Shoot and discuss on photography :D

the thumb grip is a must, serious.

Here are pics of my "zhnnged" x10:

Kaza Camera Case in Royal Blue - The x10 fits into the external case, lens hood and all. Kaza also offers brown and black versions of the case but I think the blue is more unique. Case workmanship is better than the original Fuji leather case and more importantly, it has an opening at the bottom for access to the battery/SD card and speaker. Also comes with a matching blue neck strap (not shown).

Gold Convex Soft Release from ebay - Some swear that soft releases allow you more steady shots but for me, it's more aesthetics than anything else. How many cameras allow you to add colour to the shutter button with a soft release, right ? Try screwing a soft release onto the Olympus XZ-1, Canon S100 or even the Sony NEX-7 ! :sticktong

52mm Lens Adaptor and Metal Hood from ebay (3rd party) - Costs much less than the original Fuji lens adaptor and hood but still fits very well ! Not sure whether it's intentional but the printed code on the hood (LH-X10) actually aligns to the top when I screw the hood all the way in (first pic) - nice ! I'm not sure how effective a lens hood is but hey, it certainly adds to the retro look of the x10 ! More importantly, the Kaza case swallows the camera and lens hood whole ...

Hoya PRO1 Digital UV Filter (52mm) from ebay - You can't really see it in the pics but it's there to protect the lens from finger prints and knocks.

Leather wrist strap from ebay - Used interchangeably with a Gordy sling strap that I got (not shown).

Black hotshoe cover from ebay - Inexpensive, and it completes the look !

Where did you buy the Kaza case from?

so anyone getting the HORUSBENNU thumb grip for x10? maybe can have MO in the MO sub-section for lower price again? anyone volunteer?

I yet to order the thumbs up, if there is really a MO, im keen :)

the original thumbs up is quite expensive... :(

i have one brand new silver one for sale. PM me to discuss

too bad it's silver one. if black one sure get from you.

Guys, for those want use the thumbs up grip and flash at the same time... here is the solution, a thumbs up grip with hot shoe. But whether it will work im not sure. Its for x100 but shld be able to fix on x10 too. those who are keen can check it out

Thumbs Hand Finger Grip For Fujifilm Fuji X100 Camera with Swarovski Crystal up | eBay

i think that one is just dummy hot shoe.... won't be able to trigger EF-20 or EF-42.... but maybe can put a remote trigger.

Nope, even remote trigger won't work, cos it still need to be contacted to the pins below the hotshoe. The top would likely be used for the external viewfinder. :O

so guys will there be a MO for the thumbs up?

btw, if we are to discuss about MO, please start under other profit MO session. we dun want to screw up ourself again by mod delete X10 accessories thread.

noted. anyway i just ordered mine online, cant wait for the MO. haha

btw wong_se, how long it take for your thumbs grip to arrive?
