X-10 Accessories Thread II

Chiif do have the concave type? Also, does the size matters the feel of releasing the shutter?

Might be going down to chiif later if that's the case :D

After trying for a few designs, I went with Tim Isaac soft release, it's a black concave. Chiif was nice enough to let me try on quite afew before I decided on mine. Nice guy!

Was so happen to be at SLS, so went over OP to take a look. And bought the red soft release. $12 only!

Not loose and easy to be taken out :D happy!

Kaza Camera Case in Royal Blue - The x10 fits into the external case, lens hood and all. Kaza also offers brown and black versions of the case but I think the blue is more unique. Case workmanship is better than the original Fuji leather case and more importantly, it has an opening at the bottom for access to the battery/SD card and speaker. Also comes with a matching blue neck strap (not shown).

Gold Convex Soft Release from ebay - Some swear that soft releases allow you more steady shots but for me, it's more aesthetics than anything else. How many cameras allow you to add colour to the shutter button with a soft release, right ? Try screwing a soft release onto the Olympus XZ-1, Canon S100 or even the Sony NEX-7 ! :sticktong

52mm Lens Adaptor and Metal Hood from ebay (3rd party) - Costs much less than the original Fuji lens adaptor and hood but still fits very well ! Not sure whether it's intentional but the printed code on the hood (LH-X10) actually aligns to the top when I screw the hood all the way in (first pic) - nice ! I'm not sure how effective a lens hood is but hey, it certainly adds to the retro look of the x10 ! More importantly, the Kaza case swallows the camera and lens hood whole ...

Hoya PRO1 Digital UV Filter (52mm) from ebay - You can't really see it in the pics but it's there to protect the lens from finger prints and knocks.

Leather wrist strap from ebay - Used interchangeably with a Gordy sling strap that I got (not shown).

Black hotshoe cover from ebay - Inexpensive, and it completes the look !

Nice. guess the Kaza case is the only one around tat can fix x10 with lens hood. anyway I do believe the soft release do help in more steady shot, I even got one for my rangerfinder cam, most imptly, i like this - "Try screwing a soft release onto the Olympus XZ-1, Canon S100 or even the Sony NEX-7! :sticktong "haha

Looks good. This'll be similar to my future purchase: Kaza Case (In black, though) and Hood/Lens Filter.

Dunno if I'll go with the soft release, and I think I'll probably just use a spare Wii Remote strap for my Wii strap.

Yes and no. It will fit over it but it can't go in all the way as there is a 3.5mm space taken by the filter. Diameter is no problem, its the depth that's the problem. The way round this is to use a cheapo clip on 40.5mm clip on filter .. cost around $7-10 at most camera shops. I still got some Marumi left from the MO (2 uncoated, 2 Multicoated). See link

http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/memb...i-40mm-uv-non-coated-filter-fujifilm-x10.html
Do not reply to this thread on the MO but reply to the MO link above or PM me.

Thanks for conducting the MO of the filters! Really appreciate your effort. :D

thanks for sharing! heh heh heh

love the leather casing.

Anyone tried using External Viewfinder for x10? Like rangefinder type. Where to get cheaper ones? Saw chiif selling at $200+ for one 28mm...

you mean those Voigtlander viewfinder that Chiff sell? does it work on X10?

Ya...was thinking that it's possible cause it's only for framing. Should be 100% view coverage right?
