The video features and function will finally be improved for professional use and really threaten the videographer in 5DMK5. And Canon intends to retire the XL pro cam seies by that time, prob 2030. i heard it from my neightbour's cat who works for Canon.
I wouldnt tell my client that i intend use a photo camera to shoot their wedding-of-their-life! and i intend hide from them that the video may be so hard and resouceful-hogging to edit, i can only give them the final DVD in 6 months. "What express video for the dinner are you talking about huh? how to spell......"
hehehhe
Frankly speaking, for pro use, i dun think any self-respecting professional will use that for their jobs now. Just like no one will use a videocam with photo function to shoot a wedding photoshoot mah. It boils down to quality, userability and the intended use.
But for those of us amateurs who shoot occasional videos (u know some people use handphones for video, some people use digicams, we people are the slightly more high-crass one use SLR!) we now have a good option to shoot those home video we wanted that other people have enjoyed for soooo long. If soooo many handphones, digicams, and even my shaver have video function, i dun see why it is a sin to throw that feature in for us DLSR users as a bonus. We have being deprived of such a simple technology feature for so long. Video cameras take PHOTOS, why cameras cannot take VIDEO now? Fair only la. For those against video, hey ease up, its not gonna make it a worse camera, it just something that shld have being included long agao!
No complaints about that. Canon is moving in a reasonably right direction
