Do u mean SG mkt price could be S$1200 (w/o gst)?

nope will be 1600++ without gst.... retail price in sg is much higher compared to the rest of the world.... didnt heard of prices anywhere else which are higher than sg for zd glass

Think someone here got a really low deal in Brunei.
Many foreigners told me that Prices in Sg really expensive, thats why they stop buying in SG. At least, most of them that i have met.

If prices are considered higher even with the 5% gst rebate, then aint we paying alot more. :sweatsm:

SG-ians kanna squeeze in the balls again.

does anyone here know anyone in Olympus?

Can't we sign a petition to feedback or something? Why is the oly glass so expensive compared to rest of the world?

Other brands like Minolta, nikon, their lens is not marked up so much. In Singapore we NEVER get any promotion for lens. If the price is $1600, but once a while give us a -$150 promo like in the US. Olympus Singapore is simply so switched off.

dun support such practice, dun buy in s'pore. as simple as that.

OT abit: i thot the manufactuing sector is in bad shape due to our high cost, looks like the retail sector is not doing well either with such "squeeze balls" technique. its the same if u look at other brands & other things, the prices for lens & accessories(flash, printers, etc.) r juz cheaper the other side. our garment still blame people for being quiters.... (~_~") look at the recent ERP extension.... squeeze our balls again. soon public transport cost will go up cos the basic infra structure is "imbalanced"...

Let's hope that Olympus sees this thread and start to do something about it. I believe, with the current customer base, and more after the E-500 launch, Olympus SG can have better position to bring in more goodies for us affordably.

Not everything is more expensive here. Look at 11-22mm, I think, it's very competitively priced in SG.

Its competative/lil-xpensive price but not cheaper than anywhere else :bsmilie:

If Olympus is reading this thread, with their expensive lens, they should have centre pinch lens caps for their lens!! I know this may not be a big thing but these nice little touches adds up to 'total customer satisfaction'.

I've replaced the original lens caps with centre pinch ones almost immediately!! No 'Olympus' logo on the caps :sticktong

i just want cheaper price for zuiko lenses. never have a need for any filter/pinch caps. never like using hoods either!

Perhaps Olympus could do with having rubber hoods that can extend and contract to save time and risk of damaging the lens motor everytime one has to remove reverse/remove the hood.

This lens really has the drool factor.
The price i was quoted is $1770 (wGST) irregard of M.O.
Some of the lower prices i see, are they w/o GST?
Where can we get it lower in SG? anyone knows?

This is why I have decided to keep my OLY system

i think, the reason for such high mark up is needed so that people will buy from retailer rather than olympus sg. the price they supply might be very low. thats up to how much the retailer wants to sell the lenses. there is another reason for such high price, olympus is not really keen in singapore market.

why should they foicus on this dot when they can focus on larger market like PRC?

if you notice, not many retailers are keen in taking in the stocks too.

looking at all others brands, lenses are well circulated in the market and olympus is not. however the new bodies are more pricely tag compare to olympus too.

the strategy is simple, olympus is trying to make more people own their camera. (but still more expensive compare to other countries, but it is lower priced compare to other brand in singapore)

Hi Guys, I`m from Brunei. Usually i would refer to this forum bout the price of a Oly Lens, i couldn`t believe that when i asked the local shop here about the price of the 14-54ZD, i paid B$600. AP Funan quote me SG$860. Strange, usually price here will be a bit higher that in Singapore..Just for a thought.
