Many people will book many lesson slots in advance and then cancel it when they are not free. You should observe these slots online daily and book them when opportunity comes.

It is good to know your weakness early and then practise more to correct it. Good driving skill really need a lot of practise.

- look at the road ahead, not what's right in front of your vehicle.
- learn to read the road. (cambers towards the road shoulders tend to make the vehicle pull to the sloping side, be ready to compensate)
- use your peripheral vision to anticipate surprises. (a quick test is to have your passenger "accidentally" drop something while your're driving, if you take your eyes off the road, you fail.)
- when pulling up to a stop light or sign, always check your rear and side mirrors. you never know if there's a person behind you or the person behind you will stop. if you can, move quickly to the side (hence the check of the side mirrors.)
- stay calm, relax, be comfortable.

me failed tp yesterday  34 pts...last min made silly mistakes when the test was abt to end...so i hv myself to blame :mad2::mad2::mad2:

Renting a car later, max the usage. Fetch ppl back from work, trmw go to east side n send ppl to other places. Should be using a lot of petrol n the price still increased recently. No choice la, for experience etc..

Just now saw my instructor car pass by as I walking back from another place. I think abt 200m and the car sure over take me la. I keep walking (Johnny Walker style, haha! :bsmilie:) and manage to catch up with his car. It is because my neighbour (old man) cross the road, block the traffic flow. Another round, got few motorcyclist having test, and so, his car got stuck. In the end, I am ahead of them at the junction after 200m, haha! :sticktong

Really want to get a car but even with OPC, I also hardly will drive it. Just like buying a gaming console, after some time, will be sick of it. Too much things liao, rent a car when needed else it's ok for me. Imagine prices of every thing is going up but not my salary, what is the pt of getting a car? Take public transport, still can see different girls each time. ;p

What silly mistakes ?

Same as my last TP test. Made the stupid mistake of staying in the junction and earning an IF when turning back to the driving centre.

What silly mistakes ?

while on the way back to circuit, along YCK MRT that stretch of road, was asked to do lane
changing from left lane to right lane for right turning at the next junction...i thot i was in
luck cos there was only 1 car way behind when I do lane changing but when i reached the
third lane, the traffic light infront suddenly turned amber and i was too close to the line to
stop so hv to go...so got 8 pts for that...i totally forgot to anticipate for traffic light
change..

then at the next junction, i was too nervous and stalled the engine when getting ready to
turn right, a motor bike behind me hv to jam brake and horned me..so another 8 pts for
causing other vehicles to take evasive action...haiz..:(

TP failed you becoz' you are not ready to drive on the road. Everyday, all drivers on the road have to face any hazard and sudden change of traffic light.

When approaching any traffic light, always slow down your car. This will help you to stop the car in time when the traffic light change to amber. How to slow down the car ? Dun change down gear, just slight pressure to the brake. Of course if amber light up, change down gear to stop the car smoothly. Ignore other car or motor horn you, many of them do not like L plate as obstacle their way.

Less traffic does not mean is good opportunity to pass. TP wants to see how well can the tester handle the hazard and road traffic. Just prove to them that you can do it, they should not fail you for no reason.

thanks for the advice...my re-test is end of nov so hopefully can pass cos too
expensive to learn driving nowadays...so hope to get it done with asap and no need to
see the testers' stuck-up face anymore ;p

How come you can get such an early date?!?

How come you can get such an early date?!?

when i saw an earlier date on the website, so i faster changed liao lor..

the 1st re-test date i booked via the driving centre counter was in mid Jan 08. Then
yesterday I managed to book an earlier date in mid Dec when i refreshed the webpage then this
morning saw another earlier date in end Nov so i quickly cancel the mid Dec one
and booked it...will hv to keep monitoring the page if u want an earlier date...

i hv a feeling that the driving centre is controlling the test date availability cos one
moment the test date can be very far away then next moment the test date can
be very near with all timing available.
