who are divers on CS?

it wasn't that bad at first when we went down, 55 minutes later it was really bad.
white caps everywhere. everyone was lost, even when we are 7-8 meters underwater we could feel the swells.. imagine being banged underwater at the depth of 7-8 meters.

That sounds really bad........ Is it at a site that is quite open?
Should be quite tramatic for everyone, even if there is no accident.

How is the victim doing. Hope things are ok.

Beivied: BTW, currents and waves are 2 seperate things.
Currents 'just' move you away, waves/swells are the one that throw you all over the place, and give serious problem on the boat.

oh .... a 5 metre wave .... I tot a 5 metre swell shark .... almost faint when I heard that .

Imagine a wave coming towards you, the top of the wave is 3 meters above your head.......

that is being the reason why i dont dare to go diving during this period of time. current can be very choppy anytime due to the monsoon nearing.

The start of the monsoon varies from year to year, starting from october-nov.
From the business point of view, dive operators will always try to push back the monsoon. This is inevitable. I heard of trips to P Aur/Dayang until the end of nov even! :nono:

As divers, we have the choice. We can always change our diving schedule or change the divesite in view of our limitations, weather conditions, etc.

Well, unless if u are more attracted to the discounts (due to approaching monsoon) or u want to put ur diving skills to limit tests,
go on...dive dive dive... & take all SAFETY PRECAUTIONS.

sori, reflex reaction. Guess was the ladder before reading further.

Jammed my finger once for the same reason but fortunately, no major harm done other than pain. From then on, I seldom dive from a fishing boat.

Seems like Monsoon has started, which is hardly surprising. Afterall, it is already nov. Appealing to all CS divers, do not go diving now just becos of the $30 discount. Not worth it.

If u want to, I can help arrange Lembeh on the cheap. Know this operator Sulawesi Dive Quest. Introduced a HK dive operator to them so they are quite thankful to me.

Cheap as in cheaper than other alternatives to dive Lembeh - Lembeh Resort and KBR.

Maybe a UWCS dive trip?

Saw secondhand dive comp at Raymond, think is aladin ultra pro, $300+ ..... New $580+ .... i Think..... but memomouse additional $280+, after calculation, bought Smartpro because $788 < $800+ .... Smartpro works via infared red ...... memomouse not required ..... now must use XP to run Smartpro first, until I write a program for it to work with Linux ........ now going back to study ....... a bit zombie now .....

kng or anyone ... .want to test out the Uwatec smartpro? can lend to you .....

WAAH.. thanks but not going diving so soon! Am thinking of changing my dive comp maybe sometime next yr - am slowly doing research!! Aladdin Ultrapro $580 eh?? hmm..

Haha... beivied - once you use a dive comp, you will never be able to go back to tables again!! I started using a DC once i completed my open water and I now cannot live w/o my DC!!

then i dont use blurblock's divecomp lo, haha, i prefer to live without it .. for the time being.

lanxx and i are planning to go tioman in late feb. you guys join leh, make it a majority photographers trip. but hor ... lanxx ah, i got problems with my job, so i cannot make an extended trip, only can do fri eve to sunday.

UWCS dive trip to lembeh ah, too ex for me, then secretary cannot go liao. of course still can organise la.

I use a Tigullio Bright. Bought from Deep Blue at Riverside Point. (Me not spokesman for Deep Blue - just was trained by them for OW. I get their email regularly) I think they're having a sale now so it should cost below $40.

Quite a popular model 'coz it is a good fit for Asian faces. Skirting is black which, if I'm not wrong, is more useful for underwater videography/photography.

i could have bought from eastgear matthew, but becos my face too small, thats why didnt buy. then i guess the mask you said i also cannot buy lo. shucks, hands not big enough to comfortably grab my c5050z casing, face not big enough for some masks, fins needs XS, S size bcd sometimes too big ... who will believe i am fat?! :cry:
