My guess is that the 50mm f/1.8 would be good for potraits?
:nono:

Hmm.... Its still not for travelling I feel. Unless its a very specific photographic tour for a very specific purpose. :)

The last time I saw the official photographer with a 70-200 f/4 for a colleague's wedding saw him use it.... ONCE.

I was shooting alongside and wonder... For that 1 shot, he's willing to break his shoulder. Really want to shout "Hormat Senjata!" and salute him with fighter plane roaring and artillery thumpin'. :bsmilie:

Maybe u're finding an excuse, but my personal choice for weddings are either a 17-40 or a more versatile 17-85. f/4? f/5.6? Low light? I rarely miss a shot cos the AF was hunting and hunting.

Maybe the rest of the guys have their preference for other primes & zooms I'm not sure. But that's my way. I dun really see the point of having a lens beyond 100mm for a wedding, especially if the church or ballroom is not like David Beckham's castle.

Yeap.. I agree, not for travelling.. I wont' bring it for travel even if I had it :) But good for TFCDs :bsmilie:

Its good enough lah....

What happen? I thght u need the extra 100mm range?
70-300 when shooting at 200mm is f5..

Let's see if anyone is willing to swap their 70-200L f/4 for a 70-300mm IS USM :)

It's not the capability of getting bokeh.. of coz 1.8 win lar..
but the quality of the bokeh..
f1.8 bokeh, the shiny part looks like pentagons.. v un natural.. and it's not very smooth... LOL pick up a 85mm or 135mm and you can immediately tell what's i mean..

Remember, it's the quality, not the quantity..

I've used a 70-200mm f4 before....frankly speaking, I rather use your 75-300 IS. Not that fantastic image quality. Your 75-300 IS should be able to achieve the same quality. and constant f4 doesn't help much when comes to low light. You didn't gain much stop.

Do you know what is bokeh?
Have you try shooting with a longer focal length lens with f1.8 other than 50mm?

Oh.. :bsmilie: Just as bad lah ;) Unless it's a really old 70-200L f/4 vs a relatively new 70-300mm IS USM or vice versa..
