Which Lens would you choose for a Europe trip?!

Haha anyway, can 24-105mm with flash can temporary "replace" 24-70mm f2.8?

I still think 24-70mm is more versatile cos a lot of the churches and museums in Europe do not allow flash photography. F2.8 will be a great help there coupled with the excellent ISO control of the 5D will be perfect!

Be safe and have fun in Europe!

I love Europe's architectural works but I hate distortion when using ultra-wide angle to capture them. Thus, 24-70mm is what I will put on the 5d. This acts as my street and architecture lens. I might get a 70-200 for the 1.6 fov body for the additional reach for tighter perspective or people photography (to avoid too much unwelcome stares along the way)...Enjoy yourself.

Really tempted to get 24-70mm lens now. but i was thinking i seldom take landscape in sg, so isit worth it to buy 24-70 just for the trip? cause i usually take lots of portraits! :)

I think the 24-70 is probably one of the best lens to go with a full-frame body (one of the trinity lens for a full-frame body). It is also a good portrait lens on the full-frame too but a lot depends on your shooting style. The only complain for a 24-70 is the weight which can wear you out if you are walking for a period of time. Even the weight is an issue, it has been the lens that stick with me since the day I started on photography...:)

Buy the lens that suit your style and it will follow you wherever you go...

I agree with what Oracle say. From reviews it seems that it is also one of the most favoured lens for wedding photographers. It is one of my "must get" lens if I upgrade to full frame!

End of the day it is really finding the lens that suit your style. I used to favour zoom lenses but nowadays I favour primes more. My 30mm Sigma f1.4 lens is perpetually sucked on my 60D nowadays. Simply love the bokeh and the low light performance. However when I go on trips, it is always my trusty 17-55mm that I bring with me. A versatile and convenient lens!

Happy shooting everyone!

Heard that the price from clubsnapers is $1710 for brand new 24-70mm grey set.

Got a message from other clubsnapper... "I happen to ask for a quote from this shop " Lau International Marketing " located at High Street Centre on the Canon EF 24-70 f2.8 L. Was quote $1710. Maybe you can give a try.
There number are. 6339 9500."

Maybe you can call them to find out more...

i went to paris with 24-70 and 35L on my ff.

http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/threads/829729-Parisian-Winter

all shots done with 24-70. 35L used only for low light indoors.

guess you have to adapt your style to the lens you have. just accept that somethings are simply beyond your range since you can't have everything with you.

When you go to such a scenic place, it is better to use wide angle lenses rather than lenses that have extra focal length on the long end, anyway you can crop if you want.

20-35 + 24-70 is a good combo if u have the budget

Hmmm was considering whether to sell my 18-200mm to top up for 24-70mm.

Should I?

True. :) thanks. But I am only worried about the IQ for 20-35mm. Gona test it out in Sg first. This lens got distortion.
