Now that i got my first L prime... Should i sell my 35mm f1.4 sigma art and get a 24mm f1.4 L? Or i dont really need 24... Its wider and able to cover wider compared to 35mm... Hmm

A fast 35 is more user-friendly than fast 24. You already have 24-70. The question is do you need wide and fast? Probably no.

Andrew i sold my 24-70... Now left with 35mm f1.4 Art, 50mm f1.2 and 16-35mm f2.8

The 35 and 24L are totally different. I would not sell a 35 to get a 24. The 24L2 is an incredible lens if u like wide angel bokeh but it is not a "must have" lens unlike a 35 or 50. you still have 24 covered with your 16-35.

I love my Sigma 35mm f1.4 Art. Very sharp. Good for street and actually, almost any occasions.

The other one that I like is my 85mm F1.2. Very smooth bokeh, and the one perfect lens for portrait shots.

Haha... I know. Very satisfied with these 2 lenses. And only need these 2 for my shooting style.

The 85mm f1.2 is a real gem. Extremely sharp even at f1.2. One of the best lens ever made!

I have been impressed with 85L since I got it last week. The only limitation is my skill.

If you keep shooting then your skills will only improve day by day.
Congrats on your purchase and Happy CNY!

Happy CNY everyone!!

Thanks for the encouragements. I plan to put the 85L along with a 35mm into heavy use. It is my goal to challenge myself to foot zoom:-). Hopefully, it make my shoots more interesting.

Still undecided between 35L or the new popular Sigma 35 Art..

Just make sure is within your budget. I would recommend you to try ZE 35mm f2.

Some say the Sigma is better. I am "stuck" with my 35L but I am very happy with it. I have no experience with the Zeiss. Maybe Halfmoon can convince you further.

Guys.. hows the 135 f2 compared with the 85 f1.2???...

I love the sigma 35mm F1.4 art and use the canon 50mm F1.4 alot too.
I like the range on both

The sigma 85mm F1.4 and canon 135mm F2 only on certain occasions, cos in SG too crowded or packed to use more of them.

Bottom line, I like which? I would say the 35mm F1.4 most

Waiting for the new sigma 50mm F1.4 art soon.

135 is very sharp with excellent bokeh. 85L is also sharp with even blurrer bokeh but with slower AF. Choice should be based on the focal length you need. If budget an issue, 85 is more than twice the price of 135.

I hv L lens like 135mm and zeiss 50mm f1.4. Just feel the zeiss color is a different class and boken is creamy smooth. Very 3 D too.... you hv to try for yourself. Just that it is manual focus.

I would love to try a zeiss one day. I am surprised the ZE 35/2 is just a bit more than the sigma. Much cheaper than 35L:-) unfortunately, zeiss is only available as special ordered locally.

In comparison between 85L and 135L, the bokeh quality are both excellent to my inexperienced eye. I chosed 85L over 135L because I like 85mm working distance annd perspective view better. Otherwise, the 135L is much lighter, cheaper and much faster in AF. Candid portrait by 85L is very challenging due to slow AF.

I am also very interested in this lens.

I am waiting for its reviews. Sigma is priced very competitively. One 35L can buy sigma 35 and 50 art prime combo. I want to replace my canon 50 1.8 mk2 badly.

Go ahead to replace it as the 50 f/1.8 II is a very basic 50mm lens. The L primes are a whole lot of different beasts and once u tried it, no matter how expensive it is on your wallet, u'll feel that it's very worth it.
