Really, go and try the 58 AF1 or any Metz (Especially)hammer head flash in A-mode, you will be amaze and see the difference on yr LCD if settings are correct. Thanks for your response. Pardon me as I dont know what I dont know. Must experience it for myself when there is an opportunity

must welcome other makers too ma.Perhaps one day, we try to create the opportunity, but Nikon would not be too pleased with me ;p;p
But as you mention, even the current agent are also not supportive of the servicing.
My 54 is still lying around in coma. :bsmilie:
One word "Haiz...."That would make a lot of user away from it. :embrass:
I'm staying but need some "visa" overseas. haha...stay with nikon.....![]()
The thermal feature can be disabled in the flash, so I don't really see it as any problem or issues or conservative. As a user if you do not want it just disable it, and if you decided that you want it again then just turn it on. What's the fuss?
no wonder you are a noob
No offence bro..;p
none taken
there are old birds who take mediocre photos and newbies who take stunning ones. of course i'm in neither category, but i like to keep learning
i use an SB800 and have only read abt the SB900 thus far, so the anti-overheating feature is of some interest to me.
blew my SB800 once before, so now i'm less garang with firing. an OPTIONAL protection circuit is nice to have indeed

You can disable the thermal protection mode and leave the alarm on ie. it will still warn you of over heating but will not auto shut off, a cool feature.
lol bro, you make me tempted... but i can't get another flash this season.i currantly putting this 58 AF1 for sale, after reading this thread i think i will hold back.
Nikon flash is always best choice for flash photography but really as Jnet6 mention you got to try then you will see the difference in it.
And now i going to collect my Metz 48 for my others usage,my 58 AF1 will be back to my FX
body in a few mths time..cheers to all happy flashing..![]()
and the cost??? >then either brands. Why not consider the Qauntum flashes? They can shoot without overheating and have built in radio? http://qtm.com/Trio/
