sorry for tall the stupid qns .. but why would A700 be better .. because it have ISO 800 .. ??? better imaging processor .. or what .. thot it is quite similar to A540 too ???

It's ok, that's why i gave u that website to compare the specifications of each model, it explains much clearer and in more details.

i figure its also because of the better optical zoom ..

wonder who owns these camera and if they have sample pics ...

hi Icox,

how do u find Canon A530? pics quality? how abt the nighshots pics? any drawbacks overall?
pls tell me more as i'm planning to buy this cam. thanks in advance

Hi,

I find the pic quality are quite good for day shots, have taken some day shots if ya interested i can show some to you to see hows the quality like for day shots. For night shots, its blurry but i think its my fault as i didn't use a tripod and manual settings. I can't comment on the drawbacks yet as i'm still a newbie, i may find it good but more experienced people may think otherwise.

So far all my shots is still taken using auto as i still don't know anything bout manual, quite blur on where to start. :dunno:

u using ISO 200 or what ?? or just all auto .. i am keen to know how is the ISO800 or the night shots ,,,

hi icox

for night shots, could you try the ISO800, or you could use night scene shooting mode, or special scene: night snapshot. Let me know if the picture is still blurred..

tripod is necessary under dark condition (i mean real dark where there's little lighting), but for night in general, i think u can still make it w/o using tripod.

For those who wants to see how is the night shots heres one example:

ns1.jpg

Taken with manual settings and without tripod, forgot what iso ler :embrass:

wow... it looks great to me!!... some more you say without tripod, the picture is still sharp while i see the car's "trail", the exposure time should be not short.. is either your hand very steady or the camera so good.. or both, hehe...

thanks for sharing the image.. i might want to buy it too... where do you buy it last time and how much? is there any good shop (fair price or good freebies) to recommend?
if you prefer to msg me privately, you can email to: bibet80@gmail.com

thank you

another question to ask, what battery rating do you use (maH) and how long the battery will last for normal usage?

For the picture above.
F 2.6
Exposure time: 2 sec.

I wonder how A540 , F2.6 lens compare to F2.8 lens on the A700

so the above pics are from the A540 ??? at ISO 800 ???

How does it compare with the Finepix F11 ?

no, it was A530, F2.6, 2 sec exp. ISO value not available in the meta file.

hmm without tripod does it also mean there is no other support or latch to rest the camera on ??? if so .. then i would say it is very stable ... can u take some other nightshots for us to sree , at say iso 800

Wow, the traffic junction photo is nice...

I must commend that your hands are very (extremely) stable! 2sec handheld without tripod.
I'm sure this pic is shot at ISO200 or lower.

For good night shots and usable ISO1600 pictures, Fujifilm F11 is the clear winner. It's only 6.3mpix (FYI, if it matters at all) If you need a compact and slim version there's always the Fuji Z2.

Wait another few more months and the F30 with ISO3200 will reach our shores.
