CF absorbs vibrations better. But it really depends on the tripod design itself as well. For example T1004x is more stable and better at absorbing vibrations than the T1204x. That is my personal opinion after my own tests though.
That said, I've also tested T-2204x and it is really really very good. If I can, I would have dumped my manfrotto setups and get this. So much better.
Yah... 190XPROB no more on sale... but the grip head 322RC2 is still $165.
Now they have the 190XDB on sale... but the 190XPROB is better because it can extend sideways... which is excellent for macro.

i am using a lousy but free tripod given to me. last time i have no issue with the tripod. but recently when i upgraded my cam to 50D, found that the photo i took at night was abit blur.
notice that when i point my cam at certain angle, it will drop down abit. tried to tighten the screw sometime it might help. think the tripod cant withstand the weight of my cam and lens.
in the process looking a new tripod too but cant decide which to buy.

Hi newbie here... Im planning to buy a tripod soon.. Cause I need a good tripod for my night shots.. And I don't know which brand I should buy... Manfrotto or Gitzo..?? I was hoping some one could recommend me a tripod that is durable cause Im quite rough too... Erm.. And how much does it cost coz My Budget is around $500..
