I find the pic quality are quite good for day shots, have taken some day shots if ya interested i can show some to you to see hows the quality like for day shots. For night shots, its blurry but i think its my fault as i didn't use a tripod and manual settings. I can't comment on the drawbacks yet as i'm still a newbie, i may find it good but more experienced people may think otherwise.

So far all my shots is still taken using auto as i still don't know anything bout manual, quite blur on where to start. :dunno:

for night shots, could you try the ISO800, or you could use night scene shooting mode, or special scene: night snapshot. Let me know if the picture is still blurred..

tripod is necessary under dark condition (i mean real dark where there's little lighting), but for night in general, i think u can still make it w/o using tripod.

wow... it looks great to me!!... some more you say without tripod, the picture is still sharp while i see the car's "trail", the exposure time should be not short.. is either your hand very steady or the camera so good.. or both, hehe...

no, it was A530, F2.6, 2 sec exp. ISO value not available in the meta file.

hmm without tripod does it also mean there is no other support or latch to rest the camera on ??? if so .. then i would say it is very stable ... can u take some other nightshots for us to sree , at say iso 800

I must commend that your hands are very (extremely) stable! 2sec handheld without tripod. :bigeyes:
I'm sure this pic is shot at ISO200 or lower.

For good night shots and usable ISO1600 pictures, Fujifilm F11 is the clear winner. It's only 6.3mpix (FYI, if it matters at all) If you need a compact and slim version there's always the Fuji Z2.

Wait another few more months and the F30 with ISO3200 will reach our shores.
