Which brand of flash memory will you buy?

Sorry to ask a n00b question, but what's the best Sandisk SD card to pair up with 450D? I still haven't bought the 450D yet, but wanna try to compile a small "expense list" first.

Sandisk Extereme III

I've got a 4GB Sandisk Extreme III, an 8GB Lexar 300x UDMA and a recently purchased 16GB Kingston 133x. On my 40D, I could hardly feel any difference performance wise.

The cheapest of the lot is the Kingston (at S$58). I'm crossing my fingers it would last. Or if it fails, it will do so not at the wrong time.

I will cast my vote for Lexar when CF card is considered due to the presence of UDMA for high speed read/write. Other than that Sandisk should be pretty good too.

No need to consider, no need to think. Sandisk is the one to go. Used for so many years, never failed before.

Unless you are shooting at extreme temperatures, else just get Ultra II will do. Save your bucks for something else. Speed wise, it will depend on your camera buffer. However, get a high speed card reader.

i bought my transcend 16gb Class6 SDHC in feb this yr for about $70.
it was the only class 6 16gb then and i remember seeing a review that it's faster than sandisk ultra||| thus i went ahead to buy it from memory world @SLS.
no problems encountered with my 450D- i didn't notice any longer write time to card from camera from my sanddisk ultra||| 8GB card.

always thot our pricing is cheaper in terms of memory card...class 6 really hard to find..most shop doesn't carry...

For camera with HD Video function, then probably you want to consider a higher speed range of memory card. Other than that, Ultra II is sufficient for most camera even doing burst shot.

I have the a Exteme III 4g, a Kingston (133x) 8d and a Ultra II 2g, CF cards.
So far all are working fine. I realise that the Ultra II's speed is sufficient for me. Maybe, in the future, I will get bigger Ultra II CF cards. I wonder if Ultra II has 8g or 16g.

Hmm canon is giving away 2 4gb memory cards with their promotion. But a slr kit get a goody bag, pretty ex goody bag if you ask me. Anyone know what memory cards they giving?Brand i mean lols?
