Where can I get Pelican 1514 case cheapest?

I was thinking of getting a Pelican 1514.

Anyone with recommendations on where I can get it for the cheapest price?

- Buy from local photography store (last price check $509, not sure if cheaper now)
- Order online from Hong Kong/China (cheaper shipping I guess?)
- Order from eBay or Amazon (more expensive shipping, but total price $340 with shipping)

Or you know of any other options?

I find retailers here really shrewd in their pricing. They will take any opportunity to position and market a foreign product at it's most premium point and stretch the pricing (and their margin) to hit that point. Example - luggages. Low end Taiwan brands fabric zippered luggages selling for $100+, American tourister needs to be priced at a higher segment, Samsonite hardcase luggage has to have an even higher premium at $400-500 price point. In Europe and US, Samsonite are just $200-300 (SGD).

So go for Amazon. Not that I'm not supporting local shops but the markup by the local distributor is just way too obscene.

Don't forget that the cost of doing business in SG is also a lot higher, with a much smaller market. SG retailers' sales volumes are much lower as well, plus competition from low cost alternatives. All in all, pricing goes up. Even industrial uses, I start to see folks using china brands.

You will be shocked with the price of the divider... after adding it in, it will be the same. What you can do is to buy the pelican, then buy the foam or dividers from a chinese manufacturer.

Pelican with dividers and top lid organizers, plus shipping, plus whatever, still cheaper than local. Around $350 for either Amazon or BH. Sometimes they got discount and you end up paying $280 or $300.

You will not find it below $500 for the 1514 with dividers and top lid organizer locally. Trust me, I've tried.

There's one very prominent store at Sim Lim and Funan, they sell at $349, with divider, without top lid organizer. But stocks coming soon.

Decided to go on and order online with divider and top lid organizer, total with shipping S$397.

If you have friend happen to be in Bkk, get from there. Their Pelican 1514 was on sales when i was there last week. Provided your friend willing to help you bring back. Pm me for more details.

Bumping this thread up from a search I did about the Pelican case. What are the local / international pricing nowadays? Amazon with usd exchange rate is about 370 now.
