================================

I asked her the same question, answer was the same - for different occasions mah!
:bsmilie:

I got itchy fingers, want to get a tamrac super pro 14 and a lowepro stealth reporter 550aw. Aside from the tamrac, every other bag was bought last week, so I can't push my luck!
WoW! SalutE!

Silas, by the way, you ever noticed that there's never a bag that's too big? Only too small heh ;)
Actually...there are instances when i realized my bag is/was too big or contains too much stuff...when i go birding and need to travel really light...but usually....if i find my bag too big means....I'm being attack by BBB virus to fill up the bag with more gear...;)

I've got bags that are too big, that's why I need to get different sized bags :D
Yup that's very true...that's why we all have so many bags...

How big is too big? :D
It depends on the contents of your wallet / bank account...more budget...bag will not be too big cos you can buy more gear to fill it up...Haha

Ya, that's the problem with big bags - temptation to fill it up!

Finally managed to get my hands on a Vanguard VGP-33 hard case. That is going to be useful for travel!

I've got Tamrac Ultra Pro 13 as my location bag, and it holds:

Nikon D700
Nikon 14-24/2.8
Nikon 24-70/2.8
Nikon 70-200/2.8 VR II
Nikon 50/1.4G
Nikon 60/2.8G Micro
Nikon 85/1.4D
Nikon 105/2DC
Nikon 135/2DC
Nikon MB-D10 battery grip
Nikon MB-D10 battery grip AA battery holder with 4 batteries
Nikon TC-14E II teleconverter
2 x Nikon SB900 (in Nikon SB-900 soft case w/ gel folder+holder, diffuser, stand)
Nikon MC-30 Wired Remote
Hahnel Powerstation V Twin Pro with car charger
Rocket Blower
2 x Honl Speed Strap
Honl Speed Grid 1/4
Honl Speed Snoot
Honl Color Correction Gel Kit
Honl Hollywood Color Gel Kit
Lumiquest LQ-105 80-20 bounce kit
Lumiquest Softbox III
Expoimaging Large Positionable Rogue Flashbender
Expoimaging Small Positionable Rogue Flashbender
Expoimaging Rogue Flashbender Bendable Bounce Card/Flag
Delkin Devices 6-in-1 card reader
4 x AA Energizer Lithium batteries
1 x Apple Camera Connection Kit
1 x iPhone/iPad Sync/Charge cable
Matin Filter Case with Sigma 58mm CPL and 77mm CPL filter
BlackRapid RS7 camera strap with BR Joey J-1 containing extra EL-3e battery and spare 8GB CF card

Loving this bag big time as it holds all my equipment outside of my Manfrotto 190XPROB tripod, 680 monopod, Cullman Magnsit ballhead, 2 Nano lightstands with umbrellas (am looking for a bag for these now), and a 5-in-1 circular reflector. The only bag better than the Tamrac Ultra Pro 13 is the Super Pro 14, which I'm having problems locating in Singapore.

Gosh~~~~~.... that is one heavy bag you have.... i think my back will break.
had you ever weigh your bag fully loaded?

Dunno, but I managed to get it on flight as carry on. But it's heavy :P

Whats in my canon bag:

1000D w battgrip
18-55mm
75-300mm
National Flash
Lens cleaning kit
1 Spare SD card ( eventhough i dun run out of space)
4 Spare AA batteries
Homemade tripod.

Thats all i carry. sometimes i bring along my 30-80mm

I'm using Vanguard Uprise 22 with the following items in it:

Nikon D90 attached with Nikkor 35mm lens,
Nikkor 18-105mm lens,
Nikon ML-L3 wireless remote,
Lenspen,
2 Large cleaning cloth,
Nikon Strap (In case my current one suddenly fails me)
Mini torch light
Emergency money pouch (In case I lost my wallet, at least I can still afford to travel home)

I like the idea of an emergency money pouch!

as a newbie i did wonder if i am bringing wrong items ..

-sigma 12-24 (the space eater)
-lens hood
-sb800 (still trying to muster the courage to use it)
-4xAA
-1x extra camera batt
-2x mini tripod* (when i did not bring my tripod along. but 1 cant hold the weight so i brought 2 :sweatsm:)
--blower
-lint-free cloth
-small towel
-lens pen
-1 packet of tissue
- and of coz the baby itself~ with 18-200 attached

all inside lowepro EX180..

feel like getting the passport sling.. looks so nice.. anyone know how is the space compared to EX180? :)

why wrong item? u bring tripod and flash out everytime u shoot? for general walkabout i guess just ask yourself, will i be using these things? trim down equipment lah, your back will thank you for it.

no need to be commando and be prepared for all contingencies. ;p

For photowalks, I just bring 70-200 and 24-70 on body, and an sb900. That's pretty much it

the tripod is those mini 'pen length' one.. haha.. just incase i walk till night and need long exposure time shots.. :p

but will cut out on the flash as suggested.. thank you! :D

Flash doesn't weigh much, and there's been many a time where a flash has given me the light for a great shot. Spare battery, spare CF card, flash are useful to have around

i have a safrotto bag i got from TCW for $40 or 50 if im not wrong. i use it in 3 different combinations. either with my:

1. Lumix G1 + 14-45mm and a minolta 50/1.4 prime + adapter (digital only day)
2. Minolta X-500 with 50/1.4 prime + 28mm prime (film only day)
3. G1 + 14-45mm, X-500 + 50mm, and 28mm or 50/1.7 prime. (kiasu day)

i usually go with either 1 or 2 lah, but sometimes 3 when my gf tags along in my photowalk, so need to bring another camera for her. I rarely change lenses, forcing myself to usually stick with the 50/1.4 most of the time.

here's the set up for kiasu day no 3.

here's how my bag looks like.

it actually has a zippered top, but i cut it open cos i found troublesome to zip and unzip the bag to take stuff out. and my camera got scratched by the zipper once so yeah. no more zippers for me.

now it kinda looks fugly, but hey, ppl wont try to steal from someone with a torn bag right?

I see.. So mr. flash will get to stay.. :D

When I travel with a light photographic load, I carry the following items in a non-descript bag that I can attach to my belt:

Canon G11
Battery charger
Extra Battery
Extra memory Cards
Polarizing Filter

DSCF0673_sml.JPG

hey, just curious, how come you're able to attach a lens (is that one?) onto your G11? am a G10 owner.

thanks! :D

I got an idea for a bag design - does anyone know any places in Singapore where I can pick material and do prototyping?

For normal walkabout, I use Think Tank Change Up with some TTP pouches or Crumpler 5MDH.

My setup:
GF1 w 14-45 kit lens (sometimes will add 45-200)
1-2 Lomo toy cams (LCA+, Sprocket Rocket, Spinner 360, Fisheye etc)
Spare batts
Spare SD cards
Spare films
Cleaning kit
Umbrella
Water bottle

:)

i like to bring the free Canon messenger mini

with canon 1000D and

EF 24 f2.8
EF 35 f2
EF 50 f1.4
EF 85 f1.8
