I am looking for a bag to carry a LX3 and Canon HF10 camcorder for family/casual trips. Any good bags to recommend? Thanks.

I have one Lowepro Sideline Shooter waist pack, one Lowepro Elite AW shoulder bag with three added lens cases and one large f.64 shoulder bag.

Just cleared all my lowepro bags. Left with only a single large Think Tank Photo Streetwalker Hard Drive backpack, Modular pouches inside and a Steroid Speed Belt.

I have my fair share of Lowepro bags, which now i have practically cleared all except the Primus AW. Now my arsenal of bags consists 95% ThinkTank bags.

One downside of ThinkTank backpack bags are they are more 'prone' to thefts as the zippers can be readly accessable behind the user. Whereas, Lowepro backpacks like the Primus AW is more secured (which i feel) when travel overseas. The zippers/access are either facing my back or at the side.

I wish ThinkTank can come up with the near access concept as what Lowepro has at the moment. I don't want to release the zippers with number locks everytime when i access my gears.

i hv crumpler 7 million and also lowepro flipside 400aw.

used to hv a few lowepro bags, but sold them off and guess i will b keeping my flipside 400aw cos it's really comfortable and secure to carry ard :)

Using the Artisan & Artist Submarine bag for overseas trips or shooting with my DSLR and TLR. Planning to get a Think Tank Urban Disguise 20 for local and light walkabouts. Was using a Crumpler 6 million dollar home. Outgrew it.

Changed from TT Urban Disguise 20 to a Billingham Hadley Small! Woot! SHUANG!!!

bot brand new kata 3n1 10 series at $95 from paris silk...

Love TT and Biilingham series!!

Owned a UD 50 for heavier set up (+macbook)

And an UD 35 for a lighter set up. (+netbook)

And a Billingham 335 for casual walkabout and events shoot!!

The new Think Tank Airport take off looks great - Ideal for Wedding Photogrpahy imo.

My current bag list:

ThinkTank Speed Freak (Holds 40D with 10-22 and 70-200 f4L IS) + Skin 50 (Holds my GND filters) + Lens Changer 35 (70-200 f4L IS or water bottle)

Billingham 306 (Back-up bag. Will most likely use it when I get my 400L soon)

You can get the OpTech neoprene sleeves from CP. I don't know about the price, though.

ha, i found one at a cam shop similar to the optech.

neoprene sleeve jus fitting to the SLR, and orginal strap can be used.
at 30 bucks.

not bad.. quote me 38.. bargain hhahaha

There is no right or wrong in this area. Just do whatever you feel suits you best. Its not a necessity to use professionally designed gadgets (unless you're a stickler to such stuff)
You'll be surprised to find that some cheap commonsense items out there will suit your purpose just fine. I personally like using the Dome wrap. Its practical and sensible and most important of all, dosen't take up weight and space.
Good Luck!

usually i find that i can wing it if its just one body+lens.

the moment i start to think of bringing 3 lenses or more, diy usually means a bit more troublesome in getting the lens out quickly. the proper camera bags facilitate proper organisation usually.

In addition to my Domke F-3X, I just bought a Kata Sensitivity V last week. Really very good and nice. In spite of the slim low profile, I can fit a 5D2 attached with a 85mm 1.2L and carrying a 24-70 2.8L at the side and I can slot in a 13.3" notebook.

Not sure is it becos of the strap material or design. The whole setup does not feel as heavy as if I were to squeeze everything in a normal backpack.
