Taxi fare in Singapore is still quite reasonable.

Beside price increase is part and parcel of inflation.

You're only looking at coffee bean prices. How about his petrol costs, his home electricity bill, his daily expenses, his rental? If everything else increases and he still charges the same for his coffee, doesn't he become relatively poorer? He needs to increase prices to keep up with his expenses.

This is all part and parcel of inflation. People don't understand and just grumble when it hurts their own pocket.
