Would the original charger work just fine on third party battery?
i have 2 3rd party batteries for my 450d and 1 original battery. the original battery lasts longer on a single charge as compared to the 3rd party ones.
I would still get 3rd party ones. just only coz cost wise, getting new 3rd party ones alot more affordable. and if you have enough, you can cycle through them. that's what i do.
still ok so far after 18 months.
Nope... but it work the other way round.
Sure or not?
I have never seen a Ittou(my 3P Japanese Battery) battery charger. Even if I find one, I will think more than ten times to pay $60 ($30 for bat and $30 for charger) instead of $120 for a OEM Canon battery.
I am using my Canon charger to charge my Ittou for more than three years now!! Come on, most the the Li-Ion battery works the same way.
So my Phottix battery won't work with the original EOS 5D charger then ?
It won't work with an original 5DMII's charger. CONFIRM...
they dont use the same battery anw, he's asking battery for 5D.
Item arrived today even though on the email it stated that the item would only be shipped today

Currently charging it, will see how it performs..
Thanks guys.. !
Thanks!With the original Canon charger..
Thanks!
Not sure why one CSer claiming that one particular battery does not charge this way. Generally it should work, except few exceptions (if any)
They are talking about batteries for Canon 7D and 5DMkII. Cos Canon original batteries for those 2 models has an additional chip inside. For 7D and 5DMkII's 3P batteries, they can't be charged with Canon chargers, but Canon original 7D and 5DMkII batteries can be charged with 3P chargers. Thus most simply just use the 3P chargers to charge everything. The chargers only costs an additional $5 from my understanding.
The other models' 3P batteries should charge fine with the original Canon chargers.
Hope this clears things up![]()
