Starting from now till 2 Jan 2005, Ananda Travel's branches in the
Central Business District, Woodlands, and People's Park, will be used
as collection centres for emergency relief supplies donations for the
tsunami victims across the region.
We are looking at donations for
- Food (canned, pre-cooked or ready-to-eat packets)
- Medical Supplies like bandages and paracetamol
- Blankets
We hope that the added convenience of having drop-off points in various
locations across Singapore will make it easier to appeal for donations.

i just asked a colleague who volunteers for Red Cross Singapore. he's checking out if they need volunteers. so far, he told me red cross might need people to man the hotlines. am waiting for updates from my colleague now.
Tsunami-relief: Beware of cheats
MANY caring and generous Singaporeans will no doubt contribute to humanitarian aid efforts that are following the killer tsunamis.
Those who wish to donate should give to well-known and recognised aid agencies or religious organisations, such as the Red Cross, WorldVision or the like, and not to individuals
or groups that suddenly appear out of nowhere, claiming to raise funds for the earthquake or tsunami victims but with no means of accountability or audit trail.
Caution is always good in charity, and I won't be surprised if there are cheats who take advantage not only of a disaster but also of the kindness and generosity of the donating public.
Let us consolidate humanitarian efforts and not let cheats take advantage of the situation and of us.

It is heartening to see fellow forummers pitching in to do what they can to spread the message to help the unfortunate who became victims of the recent Tsunami.
I have compile all the infomation and have send them out to all my friends and encourage them to go forward it to others too. If we all do the same stuff I think we can really maximise our reach even further to bring this awareness to more people.
