wood tripod is the best ! but they spoilt easily, i don't think you can buy it in Singapore, dunno about UK ??

Alan Photo at Funan sells the german wooden tripods.......quite good but expensive. Don't know where to get them cheaper.....

Mamiya AY701 carbon + Acra-Swiss B1 ballhead. Used to have Manfrotto before this. The Mamiya is lightweight at 1.5kg and folds to 2 ft, sturdy, accepts spikes if needed (although have to buy from the hifi shop for the better spikes if desired), and can go as low as 168mm from ground. Fits in a Manfrotto MBAG70 bag with the head. Best of all, it was on sale price at CP as at Aug 29 Only 1 or 2 left, I think.
