Aluminium is still affortable. But don't talk about carbon-fibre....it's twice or tripple the price.

wadever tripod i use as long as i m happy w/ it, not constantly looking 4 d nx newest upgrade is a v gd tripod (if not y buy it in d 1st place, rite?:) )!!

currently using slik 330. too budget constraint.

I used Slik U8000 before its extremely unstable. The legs flex uncontrollably and the plastic head cant stay still when I was using a k-m 7D and a tamron 28-200 on it. Dont use it except for the lightest of cameras.

manfrotto 724b as a start.. with 323 quick release adapter.. perfect companion for my eos300d...

Hi... juz like to ask if anyone of u guys used Slik U6600? how izzit?

I have used the Slik U6600 and I'm still keeping it for my camcorder.
IMO, it's meant really for camcorder and lightweight cameras rather than a DSLR + heavy lens. Not just because of the quick release plate configuration but the amount of weight it can handle. Neverthless it's a very light setup and works in decent lengths.

I'm using a Giottos 9160 with Manfrotto 488RC0 ballhead.
Very heavy setup (3.6kg) and can go to extreme lengths but I like it for windy areas. (Tend to travel to coastal areas)

Just bought a Slik Pro 330DX for my E500
