Currently I'm using a Manfrotto 714B. Built quality wise.... I'm pretty happy with it. I find that I prefer those pan head more than a ball(or ball-like) head. Also, it's a bit too long when folded for my liking... Reason being, when I go travelling, i like bring only a *small* daypack, and the 714B doesn't fit into my small daypack. Yes I have a bigger backpack that will fit the tripod, but it attracts too much attention. I've read all your comments, and I understand that bigger/heavier tripod is better, but no point if the big heavy tripod stays in the car/house because lazy/weak me dun want to lug it around.
my criterias
Load Capacity = 2kg to infinity (I dun currently own, but will be buying a 20D.. no long lenses, but i think 2kg is an ok weight. if you think i can survive on 1.5kg, then please recommend too)
Max Height = 1m or more.. of course the higher the better
Folded Length = 40cm or less
Cost = Dun think I have many choices left... so lets forget about the cost part first....
I'm looking at Manfrottot 714SHB and the Slik Sprint Mini. Will anyone comment on these two tripods, or if there are other tripods out there that I should be looking at, do let me know too. Thanks!
P.S ClubSnap is really addictive... Makes you just want to buy more and more stuff..... grrr..
