Just got a new SLIK 700DX.... wooahoo .... tall bugger.

sold my velbon to picard. Hope he like it.

Hi zekai, may I know how much is the SLIK 700DX? Is this the top of the range model in the Slik tripods? What is the maximum load that this tripod can support? Also how high is the height of this tripod WITHOUT extending the middle column. I am considering to upgrade my current SLIK 300DX, so as well check it out with you. Thanks.

Old thread man.... anyway, $190 with the integral 3-way head.

No, not top of the range, but considered top-range for AMT series.
Max load is subjective. It does not buckle when i press my whole body on it. Paper specs state some 6.8kg. More than enough for a 600/4.
Max ht w/o centre column is about 1.57m. It will dwarf the manfrotto 055 yet weigh the same and support much more.
Weight for the tripod is actually quite light at about 2.2kg, it is the 3-way head that is heavy.

Read an article somewhere mentioning that Manfrotto has a new design tripod w/new legs locking system that really minimise the twist & turn plus the flip lock system. They will automatically locked to it's position whenever you pull or push the individual legs to the desire height you want & can hold up to 8kg (WOW!). Hope I'm not wrong. :) Cheers dude.

Mami-ya, Dadi-ya  No Lar, just some crap brand that you'll laugh your socks off if I tell you :bsmilie:
