Hi Patrick(aka "primeshooter") and David(aka "acolyte"); with some checking around I'm seeing the connections as a result of the above post from Patrick and David's reply. I am having a good chuckle at myself.

David remember the following post from me a few weeks back?
"No worries, bro. I like your shots with the 180mmf2.8ED. thanks for sharing.
They increase my resolve to get one myself. I missed one on our Market a few days ago."

David, you were the one who beat me to the 180mmf2.8 ED. I must have been some hours behind you. I was out the whole day(I think it was Sunday) and only came across Patrick's WTS ad of the 180mm lens after I got home in the afternoon. My loss your gain. It really is a good lens.

I know it's a good lens because last week I managed to get hold of one in a pretty good condition and perfect optically. So I understand how you are enjoying it.

And, Patrick thank you for being a true gentleman, taking the trouble to reply to my email query even though your ad had been fulfilled. I say this because simple common courtesy is becoming a rare commodity lately.

Kind regards to all - Jimmy

been shooting with the neglected 55mm f2.8 for the last couple of weeks

I don't think an AF lens can focus in this darkness....

35mm f/1.4 AIS revisited on a D800E. At f/5.6 it can keep up with the sensor across almost the whole frame. Heck, it's still sharp at f/2.0

Wide open on a D300, with a nice "glow" effect.

Hi

I'm requesting for 135mm f2 samples, may want to get one in Dec this year. Show me some creamy bokeh, thanks!

Thanks Ben, and yes I've seen these before.

The pictures in this thread are really nice.

Just to check, where do you guys normally buy those AIS lenses, any place still selling new or only resale sets available now?

beautiful! with a ring flash?

Thanks!
Used the R1C1 - two SB-R200s diffused with umm fishtank cotton wool :D
Looks a bit hot even though I dialed down the FEV

thanks for the set up info! imho, the "hotness" did add to the overall shot

Here's another with the 45PCE
Used a tiny LED reading lamp to illuminate the flower from behind
Manually focus-stacked from 5 shots
