wat happened? more fare confusion???

No lah! The next time you get stuck in the train due to some fault, you have to pay even more for sitting/standing in the trains! :bsmilie::bsmilie:

That means all fares will be taxi style . Basic plus per KM/travelled and plus waiting time , the meter also jump.

World CLass Transport System indeed lol

Do we have to run from interchange to interchange? What happens if train got delayed? They have already charged us $2 extra for staying in the train for more than an hour already...:angry:

if train delay, i believe they will say can refund, just that the refund systems is also confusing.

very smart systems, indeed world class, think other countries may follow, see, they number 1 again.

just to clarify, entire trip was done inside the MRT system with no exits in between?

if that is so, that's interesting.

Yes entire trip inside no exits in between!:)

Just remember the previous trip also same route return trip also same route the price is also $0.83 for going and returning is also $1.46 at that time i thought i remember the price wrongly till 2 days ago i make sure that i go to the ticketing machine n check my transcation history then i realise the huge difference!

By travel time?

Exit - Entry < x mins => Route A

Exit - Entry > y mins => Route B

Then round off to whichever gives a higher fare.. :devil:

i think the issue here is, how do you measure which route is taken? since you only tap in once at entry, once at exit.

make consumers tap at interchange?

they should start a system whereby users can register their EzLink Card to some designated email address..

Then every week they automatically send a transaction record for that card.. that would be world class service..

Charging by time based... so next time you will see everybody standing outside the gate and looking at the display monitor until it shows "training arriving in one minute" then go in lor :bsmilie:

Seriously, they can say what they want, charge what they like. Even if they were to increase the fare by 10 times, what can the commuters do? Just make noise and complain but end up still have to pay right? This is Singapore, just take it or leave it ;(

BTW, how come during YOG they can add more train trips to shorten the waiting time ?

Can they add more during peak hr as well...

No external visitor never mind mah...

We can only complain, bo bian what. Got any alternative to MRT for train meh

Lucky I now still student, dunnid care all this nonsense. Just cap at 58 cents, but I can already feel why ppl are complaining...it takes so fast to get to 58 cents, and our fare is just half the adult fare.

Maybe PTC factor in the wind direction ?
It is definitely cost more in fuel to go against the wind than to go along with it.

YEah what happen?

NOw it is almost 1.5 months snice the day they started this charge by distance thing. they say look at the long term so for the past 1.5month or 1 month how much have u saved?

For me every trip compared to before changes have gone so i dun see any saving at the end of the month!

Question:

1) If they charge by distance why do i still sign which states: Price will be deducted when entry n exit at the same station, Can i know what is my distance travelled?

2) 2days ago i travel from my place to my friend's pl in sengkang:

Braddell ---> Bishan ---> Serangoon ---> Sengkang, fare is $0.83.

My return trip from:

Buangkok ---> Serangoon ---> Bishan ---> Braddell, fare is $1.46.

My friend's place is in between Sengkang n Buangkok so my return trip i chose Buangkok thinking that it is before Sengkang so it will be nearer but...

:confused::dunno::confused:

I did a check on the website http://publictransport.sg/publish/ptp/en/distancefare.html

and it's $1.50 and 9.5km from Braddell to Sengkang MRT leh.
Can verify again it's 0.83cents for your case?
Any feeder bus before that for your case?

i think this issue got to me.

i am sian liao so probably this lousy issue will vapourise into thin air.

i am starting to believe that it is easier to track my transport expenses if i drive. :bsmilie::bsmilie:

at least i can keep track and i will be paying them willingly. :bsmilie:

ok, it is still way too $$ as compared to public transport but i must stress the point, sometimes it is not about $$ but rather, a clear and transparent system answerable to the people.

Come onlah guys, you have to see it in the long run.

Better to increase now and take your medication, if you look at Japan, we are still cheaper and don't need people to push you into the trains. :thumbsup:
