i registered under sequitur yesterday, pmed the guy 'sammyboyfor'.

the point is he can disable hotlinking to the domain if you own it...

i suggest that maybe darren can aid in pm-ing sammyboy and disable *.clubsnap.* or something.... can't work for pbase though... worth a try guys ?

i know there should be a disable hotlinking, so that the linked picture outside of this forum will just display whatever the forum owner places !! hope that will help.

As for leeching the photos, i think thats really disgusting, owners of the photos places them here for comments and sharing it with other photography-lovers, but ended up for webby like Sggirls ? Eekk....

Lets stand together and beat them off the forum !! if possible, any lawyers here ?

ohz, disabling Right-click i believe will turn off many of our club members, don't you guys agree ? disabling the hotlinking system is better (thats what i think lahz...)

You can probably flood their websites with pictures of birds, macros flowers, scenaries and plants... since they allow hot linking... maybe you can use their server space! Hahaha!

We will re-implement the Hotlinking Protection for the Gallery server sometime today.

It was turned off due to some issues that members were having with their firewall setups.

Please note that we can only control hotlinking if the images are stored within the ClubSNAP domains (clubsnap.org/.com/.net/.com.sg) and we cannot help you if your image is hosted elsewhere (eg pbase, photobucket, your own domain )

This also does not address the ability of the leecher to *download* the picture and store it on his/her own server/image storage elsewhere.

Update: Hotlinking outside of ClubSNAP's domains has been disabled.

Although I am not much of a computer bloke, I think this is brilliant! Flood their website till they cry!

On the other hand, I have seen websites where the pictures come out in a separate window that can only be viewed, but not printed to hard copy. Is this a possible viable solution to prevent leeching?

That is flash (I think), it works exactly what u described, but it is slower to view.

yaya, good ideas...find out who these people are and post their mothers, sisters, friends and daughters photos there and see how the member's faces look when they open their pages and see naked pics of their relatives or friends...

If you guys are serious in putting a stop to this, we should infiltrate Sammyboy's forum and try to get to know the people who leech the photos without telling them who we are. Meet up with them outside somewhere on the pretext of some other purpose, like going to bars and massage parlours...all those kind of activities I'm sure some of them indulge in, and.... 'inform' them of their mischief. How you 'inform' them is up to you of course. Serving them a lawyer's notice, or perhaps some other ways....

Basically, make an example of a few of them. That's how the law works. Deterrence.

The site looks local and definitely more of a porno site. If this is the case, couldn't it be reported to the authority to shut it down? Since copyright pictures have been lifted, couldn't we do something legally?

Sammyboy's site is not hosted locally, otherwise it would have been shut down ages ago.

You can't stop people from viewing/copying. Using flash also no use. i can just press the "Print Screen" key on my keyboard and paste the pic in Microsoft Paint, crop it, save and upload to another server.

Like they said. If you don't want it to be stolen, don't post it online. Want to view? Just maybe have some lim-teh / kopi session @ SEED or something to sit down and view it over a nice cuppa.
