hey guys just a big warning to anyone who sees prices that are too cheap online
I've experience with some of these shops and they're all under different names but all actually originate out of Brooklyn. and no they do not have "31 years of experience" or "24 years of experience"
they use bait and switch techniques, so don't bother getting excited when you see a new camera at 30% cheaper than B&H online!

any sites that you've personally encountered or verified? perhaps you can share your experience.

there's also an online directory where users can report/rank their experience of such sites. sorta like a blacklist directory.

cant remember where the blacklist was posted... but from what i remember, people DO actually go to the registered address to take photos, but horrors of horrors, some are barber shops, closed down places almost to be torn down etc...

heck, want to buy online and American? B+H or Adorama.

Check out the stores here first. Not foolproof but a good starting point.
ah, so there are more than one. why am i even surprised... it's the internet after all.

this one has a different look and feel to the one i saw. but it's a good start. thanx for sharing.

hey what about those that say 'buy a camera for $60' you buy something for $60 and the website puts you on a list... when you go to the top of the list, you get the camera thus buying it for 60 bucks... is that a fraud?? anyone tried that??

thanks for the tip!!

So far, my overseas purchases has been via ebay & payments have been made by paypal... dare not order from the online stores.... with ebay, u can check the reputation of the sellers.

Hmmm.....accounts can be hijacked, users can bump up their ratings by creating many false transactions, e-bay is scam heaven. Stick to a few reputable online stores and you will be fine.

I been buying from ebay and enjoy doing it. Just use some common sense. Unnecessary paranoia is nothealthy.

Hi..

I saw a couples of such postings in the classified adv at Yahoo. Ask to see the product, the reply was he was overseas. he can only show you when he returns.

HE NEVER RETURN!!!!

If you paid up.. you may get a stone is a box...!!!

Take care!

Agreed, I just don't think e-bay is safer than online stores, as mayonaise had implied.
