TS is working on a compromise... most of us humans have compromise

after touch Brad Pitt's butt, and comparing to my partner's butt, i can also feel the quality is very different :bsmilie:

:bigeyes::bigeyes:

u mean pitt's butt offer more stability than ur partner's?:bsmilie::bsmilie:

too much details.

too much details.

Indeed  hehee.

Whatever I buy for a tripod setup, I don't plan to sell it again in the near future.

Do you guys think I should upgrade the tripod to 190CX3? I mean, is it really a good tripod, or would there be a chance that I can justify something better in the future? Assuming my heaviest setup still will be the 70-200 + 1 series + flash.

Or would it be better to get a pro head like a Markins Q3 and go for lens collar plates and L plates instead?

What's the 190CX3 without the offer? It was US$250 on amazon.

Ah I see. Good to hear positive views on the 190CX3. How's the stability of it? Does it flex when you apply pressure to it?

i didn't experience flexing. my setup was a Nikon D300 + 70-200 f2.8 or 17-55mm f2.8. was quite stable. took some long exposures under strong winds by the bay..and the pictures turned out ok.

Good to hear! Thanks!

The GT1541T folds up very small, and is quite light at 1kg, but if you want to sacrifice a little fold-up length for weight, the GT0541 is only 0.79kg, that is 210g lighter, and you will feel it. Of course, I don't have a heavy setup. oh, and the GT0541 is cheaper at $560, vs $750 (?) for the GT1541T.
GT1541T so cheap meh?
CP quoted me $840 today. :(

To Headshotzx,

Was the 'Feisol' tripods in your research or consideration? I own the CT3441 for about a year and find it to be an absolute joy to carry around and use. The tripod has travelled with me and can be easily folded and packed into your cabin luggage. The price is also very reasonable (in fact, cheap considering these are carbon fibre tripods) in my opinion. The CB30 ballhead that comes with it, hold my Olympus E3 and Zuiko 50-200mm lens (total close to 2kg) without any problems.

And if small, portable, travel-able are your priorities, they are worth a good look.

Cheers

Hi ter Hitman,

May I ask how much was the Feisol tripod and where did you get it ? Here in SG ?

Thanks ! :)

CP quotes awful prices. Don't buy there.

I got the quote from J316, but I can't remember the exact price. It's definitely high 700 (760-790). CP quoted me $800+ also.

I bought my G1541 (non traveller) from JO3:16 for $770 in Sept last year. I think the traveller version is about $30-$50 more. Plus some price increase.....
