Just checked with AA who issue international driving licences (IDL). Class 3A can also get IDL (Class 3), but can only drive auto cars overseas, even though IDL says Class 3. I asked: "Who's to check"? To which the reply came back sheepeshily: Ya hor... how to check. But she did mention that in case of accident, and if insurance company check, and if licence in SG is 3A, there might be complications.

So.... save all the trouble. Get class 3.
