This Rangefinder & Compact Council (RCC for short) can help each other to improve in skills and also discuss about new products mainly on the Rangefinder and Compact side. This Council will not be a mainstream one like Nikon or Canon. Coz less and less ppl are using Rangefinders & Compact nowadays!
So will RCC be form? Anyone support this idea???

Sorry, to be frank, I really hate the idea of Gaffering! Scare so much might as well store their camera in their house? Then do I need to gaffer my Rolex watch and my Toyota also?

Don't u know that there IS already one such "council" (a sickening term)?? They usually gather every saturday afternoon at the coffee shop near Cam.X. u can't miss them cos they are "senior" and usually showing off their LieKas' and those out-of-focus B&W pix (known as good-bokeh picture:) ) Just not sure who is the chief (could it be xxx kid??)

Sorry Piglet. I does not belongs to those old fellows.
I take sharp pics with my M6 + 50mm Summicron + 90mm Elmarit.
If you wanna know what is the real bokeh I can meet u up and show you.

Guys please!

If you are genuinely interested to start an interest group whose main purpose is not to bash up another collection of people because of their perference of a certain brand, please go ahead and contribute constructively to this thread.

If not, I'm afraid I will have to close this down since it'll do more harm than good. We have some unnecessary battles of tongues of late and I hate to put out another one.

LOL!! But your "I does not belongs to those old fellows." stinklish really makes you sound like one of them, c'mon Chief :bsmilie:

I think Rangefinder & compact group better than "U need a ... to be a real photographer" group is better.

Personally, I never had a leica before and I am not sure if I will ever be lucky enough in the future. But I had the pleasure of handling one before and I must say despite the snobbery associated with the brand, it is fundemantally a very well made camera. If Leicaphiles would want to get together, I don't see why not. Anyway, very few cameras are handmade nowadays!

I agree. But some ppl here (esp Pigglet) does not understand this. To them Leica is about snobbish people. Really sad man! :nono:

Leica sure is a great name and a great image-making tool (that is in the hands of such greats like HCB, DAH, Sam Abell, ... not those pseudo-snobs who claim "I take sharp pics with my M6 + 50mm Summicron.." :bsmilie: ) )

I'm not knocking anyone's bona fides, juz don't like the tenor...

You know the irony is that I use a Contax IIa and I really can see why Leica and cameras of that era have their loyal users. For me, I value the quality of construction and also these cameras are works of art and mechanical precision. It's as good as handmade watches. Every camera has their own history and quirks, unlike mass produced cameras of today. So, carry on with the plan! I may not have a leica, but like I said, it's a damn good piece of camera! Honestly, I'd like a M3 or a IIIg

Can any mods here pls take note of what Pigglet had commented over here? Seems like he is starting a war here.
Pls la..I am not here to find trouble with anyone, if you (Pigglet) wanna find trouble pls go elsewhere.

Agree, those mass produced Plastic cameras today is more like toy than any serious tool. :thumbsd:
