For HCMC, if you like building photography, the Reunification palace, and nearby like the Church (forget the name), the 100 years post office, are really nice.

Look for the tourist information center, about 10 to 15 min away the Ben Tanh market. Got free maps there.

The Ben Tanh market offers a lot of goods, from cloth to souvenir to food. I realized the cashew nut is slightly cheaper there... Just to compare, in Sg usually 1 kg (for the ready to eat) is SGD16-17. Remember to bargain. But once they meet your price, must buy their stuff. Don't just bargain but actually not interest to buy.

I am over in sapa right now, really nice place to chill out and plenty of subjects to shoot! Though it is really getting more and more commercialised,right now just beside me, there are 2 tribal girls gambling with the tourist in a pub.:sweat::sweat::sweat:

Will be heading to Hue on the 22th and HCM on the 26th.

Oh ya think the China town in HCMC should not be miss. Must take a taxi from the Pham Ngu Lau area to there. Try the Tong Yuan chicken rice, not bad.

It is already late evening when I was there. But I feel there should offer nice street candid.

Alri thanks. Till now the best food i have eaten is over at the homestay in sapa. Was really great and we had rice wine to accompay our meal. As we ran out of soft berth, ended up taking the hard seaters. Really the vietnamese way, we are the only foreigners on board but din manage to catch a wink though (am quite a fussy sleeper).

Will be heading to Hue, heard from some fellow backpackers nothing much to do there though, will be there for 3 consecutive days! (already booked the tickets) Any advices?

Btw i think i will have some time to spare in HCM to head to Mui Ne. May i know how or where do i book the bus ticket to head over? Online pricing as usual seem way overprice. Any idea whats the budget shld i pay for a 2D 1N trip, purpose just to suntan chill out and of course possible capturing the sunset and sunrise

Power supply is 2 pin if i rem correctly so please bring along your international adapter. Most accom have free wifis (even the cheapo ones), so u may wanna check n make use of that.

Alright thank you, am in hue now. Really quiet city with cheap and nice hotels. Will be heading to hoi an next.

hue's quite a nice town to walk ard on your own. you just missed the hue festival which is their local arts festival which attracts many artisians etc. be sure to visit mandarin cafeat 3 Hung Vuong St. Food there is rather cheap but the main draw for me was that the owner Mr Cu is a photographer. you can view his works at the cafe. He also has walking guides prepared for travellers for free! He even offered to take me on a bike tour to visit some of the sites where he took some of his photos. Unfortunately for me, i was leaving that day alr. 3 days is quite okay. i stayed there for 3 nights actually. Rmb to find a good english speaking guide if not the tour ard the citadels and tombs is quite boring. although i think the tombs itself with a proper guide is boring enough.

according to the locals, its the low period now. so you can expect hotels and everything to be cheaper. i just came back from vietnam few days ago. my itinerary included saigon, mekong delta, mui ne, nha trang, danang, hue. and of course visiting the areas around those cities. if you need any info abt the following places do email me at jonathantee89@gmail.com cos i'm not really active on the forum.
