#105 - CBD with sun spotlight on Maybank/UOB building

There is halo at the top of the buildings. Perhaps too much recovery in the highlights. I will give a little more space on the left also.

This is unique bro, did it with PTgui??

No lah, I do this when I am lazy. It's simply an easy Filter -> Polar Coordinates from Photoshop. Bit tired also, maybe will go back to just taking photos without thinking for a while. Yesterday also didn't get anything at all.

Took this shot during YS's evening outing. I had a couple of shots
in and the best one was when the sky was just on the border of turning
from dark blue to black. At that moment, the outlines of the buildings
are very clearly defined; just before and there the contrast is not as
good, just after and end up with a bit of floating light (i.e. building
merged into sky background).

Eh, the verticals are not straight. Take a closer look at the building on the extreme left.

Your #111 reminded me of one of Kit's photo. Looks like you have master everything from him in this one.

Really really really like your #116 with just a slight imperfect imho. (which can be overlook as the rest of it looks really good. The part whereby the Swissotel joined to the MBS looks disjointed)
Using the spot light from the floating platform as the base to form the anchor (or stem) and the rest of the reflection nicely radiated out. Overall exposure looks good. Interesting colours from the lights.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

 is it? I didn't do any post processing adjustments, could it be lens distortion? Looks straight even when I align against left of monitor... Ackz... or are you referring to my botched job in trying to brighten the buildings? Doing a reload now after I saw the error

Strange. I d/l the photo and checked it in PS. There is a weeeee bit of tilt (less than 1/4 deg) but I thought it wouldn't be that noticeable at all. Don't worry about it then.

Thanks, will have a look at it later. Orig pic here.

 okay... now I know how precise you check. *scared* :sticktong

I better get down to doing lens distortion corrections also. Hardly do that, but there should be some easy way of mass processing them.

Its ok lah. I did not get it right sometimes too. Its just baffling to see a slight tilt appearing so obvious.

Shot from MBS with a ND filter. I did a number of post processing here,
from making the water more less brownish to the tint in the sky
and a focus on the colourful floating platform.

I wasn't sure about this pic. It was a 50-50, making it a dark pic
with huge spots of dark silhoutte probably wouldn't work.
Still, it had a fantastic sunset in it. On hindsight, I should crop
off the bottom 1/3. This was from Changi Beach.
