He also used to be very rude three years ago.
you seems to know a lot despite you joined in 2010.
as Mod ed9119 already mention, photos posted here will be be spliced, dissected, torn apart and discussed, like it or not, this is photography forum.Don't speak as if dp is a god here. He also used to be very rude three years ago. I bet dp never kena much infrac because he is so well-loved for his rudeness. Did the mods close one eye just because he is deadpoet? I think yes. In fact there is no need to aim at comments here. Sometimes i also make sweet comments, sometimes i also give a tip or two. Why must every comment be constructive and serious? Wouldn't the forum be very boring? Just my two cents.
The model does look sweet and cute, but sorry, the dress in the above picture is not a cheongsam. It looks more like a bare back fitted dress.
Cheers.

in this sense i agree, it's not a cheongsam/qipao.. but rather, a contemporary take on old traditions.
this is just a shoot with western-eatern fusion cute dresses.
for the real qipao/cheongsam, take a look at some of those oldie tailors. they take ages to make. i know because my mum had 2 tailor-made some years back.
btw, i feel that the composition/PP does the models no justice at all.rather than just shooting head-on, TS should explore other angles. also, if you look at those old posters of women in cheongsams and qipaos (sorry i have no idea of the distinction between the 2) there are certain poses to bring out the feel and sensuality of the woman wearing it.
properly posed, even the cutest girl becomes a bombshell :bsmilie:

sinned79 don't know how you found this but it's pretty interesting to look at. i'll be stuck at it after work :bsmilie:

Pardon me for adding a little bit "off thread":
Singapore tailors who can make qipao are almost extinct. Two months ago, I brought my wife to Shanghai to make six qipao. As the qipao capital of the world, the tailors there are experts and delivered the finish product within three and a half days including three test fittings and modifications. And cheap too - they only charge labour RMB350.00 (S$75.00) each. And best of all, the qipao make my wife look graceful. (Any CS members who are interested to go to Shanghai to make qipao can PM me for the addresses of the tailors. There is a whole street of shops making them).
The "bombshell" part is very true also - thanks to "The World of Suzie Wong".:bsmilie:
Cheers.

"Modern Cheongsam Theme Shoot" & "Cheongsam Theme Shoot"
& not
"Cheongsam Shoot" or "Authenthic Cheongsam Shoot"
sorry i thought that "Cheongsam Theme Shoot" equals girls wearing CHEONGSAMS for the shoot as is the thread title. this alone will already attract people to come into the thread thinking it's a shoot with girls in authentic cheongsams. the thread title itself is ambiguous (is it modern or old-school cheongsams).
if you want to clarify this, the correct title for the thread would be "MODERN cheongsam theme shoot" which i believe. and that's why everyone thinks it's a cheongsam shoot
no offence to TS for this. just another 2 cents that i'm throwing in and a free english lesson :bsmilie:
