My transport to and fro to the shop (for 2-3 times) is enough for me to buy a new and better quality card.
I initially thought Kingston is quite good card. I have used one before without any problem.
I might not go back to the shop again unless I am on my way for some other reason(s).
Tks all for your inputs.
i dun know if there are fake memory card in S'pore.recently,i bought a transcend 16gb class 6 card in Penang and the result posted below using h2testw software.
A few of us have confirmed the 8GB card works in the kx, so compatibility is not an issue.
Borrow one from your friend and test it in your camera. if there are no problems, then it is likely the original card fault. The shop may have a bad batch so going back to change may not solve the problems. If that is the case, then buy another SD card from anywhere. The price difference is minimal since they are so cheap these days.
btw, some of these "16GB" cards in reality are 4GB cards with built in compression software. You can differentiate them by the price between them and the real 16GB cards. Use these only if speed and criticality is not an issue.
Called up the shop one more time.
Wanted to ask for an exchange of another brand however was told they only keep Kingston and no other brands. The guy said mine was the only complaint. Typical salesman.
note: Skycam gave different input above.
Anyway I will not waste anymore time and effort on this. Will buy a better brand card.
Thanks everyone for your input and comments/advice.
Will close this thread.
