Beri sexy ah... I like combo here. Nice.

Thanks for the support. Actually I wanted to get a matching leather jacket with the strap but colours are hard to match online. So might as well get a black jacket plus some camel colour leather skin. ;)

Hi TS I would like to borrow your page to ask a question of the EP series. I own an EP2 for 3 months and I saw EP3 came and bought the EP3 thinking to sell the EP2, but I got stuck with the EP2 and eventually give to my daughter-in-law. I visited second hand stores offered me a throw away price or even some do not want to offer a price. After a year later now I am seeing you guys enjoying the EP5. I would like to go for the OMD weather proof camera and the 12-40mm lens, but I need to find a away to sell my EP3. I am not thinking of getting EP5 because it is not a all weather camera and I always stuck with the kid lens that I do not use. OMD-10 last I saw is in my mind and I hope I can get body only deal. Any advice?

Hmm u definitely can sell the EP3 here on B n S but pricing wise gonna have to be accepting a bit. No matter what prices here should still be better than the second shops out there.

I'm not sure whether u wish to get the EM5 or EM1 body. If it's EM5 body it's really easy to buy here and get the 12-40 lens only set at the shops :) if it's an EM1 , then I'd suggest buying the EM1 , 12-40 kit.

Don't always assume prices here are defn lower than the shops. U may be surprised if u bother to call the shops and compare.

Yes. Some folk who post in BnS are pretty clueless because they don't do homework. I've seen folks asking for prices that are way above what they sell at the shops.

Hi,
Just saw this E-P5 grip on the mu43 forum. Looks interesting but a bit pricy.
Wonder if anyone here has bought it oredi.

Akkers

Looks as good as one from J.B and clears all my checks in the list :)
1. slot for changing batt without removing grip
2. light, 5 oz
3. sturdy, machined from aluminium and of course,
4. a really substantial grip.

Had given up looking for a grip for the EP5, glad that someone has finally gotten to doing one. At US109, i think its a fair price looking at the HLD-6's price and the J.B, RSS grips as a comparison.

Had managed to make one using gariz as base and with Sugru.

Thinking if getting an EP5 for my friend, but the huge number of EP5s on bns, with the 17mm 1.8 and vf4, some of which are more ex than current new pricing, are kinda a put off. I guess its a very good camera having come from an epl3, but is there any less positive feedback about this camera that would explain the trend? Tks!

There are a lot of Sony A7s , Oly EM-1s , X100 and X100s for sale too :) some A7 sets with the 35mm and 55mm FE lenses too but I wouldn't say that implies anything negative.

I'll suggest going to the shops if u r into the EP5/VF4/17mm kit. Current BnS prices aren't competitive at all for the EP5, which is a similar case for the Q10 BnS prices.

I'm still keeping my EP5 having got the EM-1 & use it mainly with smaller lenses or when I prefer bringing out a smaller 'package'.

Only gripe I've with the EP5 is the lack of a substantial grip , for which u can always get an add-on grip if needed.

Another maybe issue is that some people love the VF4 while some see it as an added baggage. Performance wise VF4 is excellent with almost zero lag and sharp, only thing is that it'd be perfect if it's physical size is smaller.

IQ , performance , IBIS and specs wise I'll say that it performs to expectations being the flagship PEN model.

I have been using the E-P5 for 2 months now and always impressed with its results. As Bro Keith mentioned loads of other new cameras in BnS so i wont take that as a negative. There was some talk of shutter shock but other than some initial doubts,i havnt noticed it anytime.
Its such a lovely camera to use especially with primes and i actually prefer to have an option on whether to use the Vf4 or not.
Highly recommended - 3 of my friends bot the E-p5 after using mine and seeing the results.

Also given the freebies and prices now ( saw as low as 1470 cash for kit) in my opinion good value for what u get.

Cheers

Woah , Akkers u even more powerful than me , poisoned 3 friends straight :)

Actually if u sell the free 40-150 off , with the 17/1.8 worth around 500 , the body and VF4 is only around 800. Don't think this can get any better for the quality one is paying for.

Hi EP5 Users,

Has anyone pair the EP5 with Olympus 14-54 ii lens ? I understand this setup is big and heavy as oppose to using mFT lens.
Feedback gather from Internet is that IQ from this lens is very good and focus is not slow on the EP5. Just like to know how
does this setup handle in normal usage ? Any feedback is very much appreciated.

Hi, my usual settings below,

About IQ,

Unless u r shooting raw , choose SF for the JPEG quality settings to get the most out of this excellent camera.

This option is 'switched off' by default.

Go to menu , custom menu G and change the first option from L to SF.

Tried it once before , IQ is excellent , focusing speed is good but having to use the 14-54 with a MMF adapter too makes the setup front heavy, especially so when EP5's grip isn't substantial.

The 12-40 or 12-35 will make much better choices coming to balance and similar IQ for me.
:)

Money not enough to buy 12-40 or 12-35, unfortunately ......
May have to settle on the 12-50 then, though I prefer the max aperture of F/2.8 - 3.5 of the 14-54 ii.
Wonder whether Olympus will release similar spec lens for mFT .......

Hmm , u referring to a bright lens with approximate 12-50mm reach ? Don think chances are high since the O40-150/2.8 is already in development.

I will really advise u to save up for the 12-35 or 12-40 against the 12-50. I had the 12-50 before I changed to 12-35. The difference in performance is worth every single cent more u will spend. Rather delay the gratification than end up buying something and end up always pining for 'what could have been'.

If really must choose the 12-50, I'd advise you to take the Pana 14-45mm instead. Similar or cheaper, it's noticeably sharper.
