A nice pic! I really like the nice blue sky & the contrast in colours. but would it look better if the foreground bush is cropped away? just an opinion! I m learning how to compose my pics!

I did think of cropping off the foreground, but that chopped off too much of the front portion of the jetty reflection in the water and I felt that was too unbalanced.
Certainly appreciated you perspective on this though.

Haha, i was supposed to meet Simon for shoot but he had to be back office that morning so I came here alone.
Ya, west has quite a bit on the contrary for sunrise. Little Guilin is another.

I get the feeling that every time I do a long journey (on bicycle) to a spot, the weather just refuses to cooperate.....
1.5hr ride starting off a 5am, to a spot with good potential, but no sunrise.
Pleasant ride though.

One lesson I learnt about this endeavor, its a bit too far and by the time I got home, it was 10am and no longer 'nobodies time' (and the children had missed their usual outdoor time due to this.... )

Made a decision to bring my Q along whenever I commute by bike to work so that I can perhaps gets some shots on the way home.

Sunrise on the coin mill

Sometimes, I really envy those guys without kids.
Everytime is 'me' time.
Any day can be a landscape day at a moments notice if the weather looks promising.

Me...
Even on a staycation, landscapes has to be during nobodies time....
Sort of made peace with that.....

Good weather, cooling breeze on MBS in the early morning.
We don't have mountains here, but that calming effect seems the same.

No need to be paiseh.
I think many guys with a family to take care of and little outside help will only have 'nobodies' time to take landscapes.

Sunrise on the concrete Garden from a concrete Mountain


I can't help but think of the irony of the Gardens.
The river used to open out to the sea.
Then it was reclaimed and it had a small inlet.
Then it was dammed up and is now freshwater.
Culminating in the opening of the Gardens.

The Gardens almost like a celebration to all this.
A pinnacle showcase of development over what was...
