Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 User Group

Hi~anybody use this lens to take portrait before? Can share some photo,please

It will distort the edges quite abit

i am at Shanghai now. They are selling at around SGD$770/unit (Sony Mount). Is this price ok to purchase? 3 yrs local warranty but guess we cannot use it when we are in singapore....

Bought it for 760, new at Shanghai.

Twist the hood

Tried that and it seems locked. for Nikon, there is a release button which you can depress before twisting it but cannot find one on this Tokina and tried to twist with some force and would not budge. Afraid of breaking it.

There's no button to release the hood. Is ur current hood flushed to the lens ? If it's not it may not have been put on correctly. And did you try to twist it both directions clockwise and anti clockwise ?

If the lens is mounted on the camera in its normal shooting position, twist the hood to the right n you'll hear a click n the hood will be dislodged from the lens

Hi... just got this lovely lens from TK at $900. Got myself a Zeta EX CPL for $150 and B+W MRC Nano Clear Glass just to protect it if not using CPL. Hope these buys are justified and worth every cent that i spend. Cant wait to try it out today.

any one know the price of B+W MRC Nano Clear Glass ? is this a good filter for this lens that act as a protection layer to the element?

Hi i'm still pretty amateur in photography. As i will be travelling quite a lot, i was thinking of getting tokina 11-16mm.

I would like to get some feedback on the len. Are any photos uploaded here taken at 11mm? I really like to have see how wide is it...

And also anyone care to share portrait photo taken at 11mm, f/2.8? Thanks!!

This is taken at 11mm but since I had already corrected the photo for perspective distortion, the original image is actually a little wider than this.

For landscape use this len, for portrait too wide, get 35mm prime or use your kit len if you have...

Awesome picture spree86 now i'm more certain to get that lens. How does you correct the distortion if you do not want to crop?

You can't really correct the distortion without cropping, you can try to minimise the distortion but keeping your camera as level as you can.
