Go get it bro, any difference between the 2 are going to be minute, and u need to be super super pixel peeper to see them.

By the way, mine don't have any focusing problem. In fact I never hear people have this problem on the 11-16 before. Where did you read it from?

My friend's got backfocus problem and it is a new lens..I don't know how bad it is as I didn't have chance to see the pic myself..or maybe his just a bad copy?

I randomly goggling for this and found some articles related to this issue..

I am no pro, but for wide angle lenses, it is not a common problem. You may want to check with him whether was he shooting charts, or he experienced the problem during his normal shooting. If he is shooting chart, then my advise is for him to take the lens out of the house and just enjoy it. :)

Many problems regarding focus issues are self-created, and no such thing happens in day to day shooting. If you are worried, then just walk into the friendly neighbourhood store to buy and test on the spot. The warranty can set you at ease too after you buy.

I think with UWA and FE's it's hard to spot any back focusing issue the DOF shallow that even with back focus it's hardly noticable... I have this lens and never seen any issue so far I also have MF Samyang FE I just put the focuse around .7-.8M and everything is sharp up to infinity :-)

Bro the picture looks abit slanted, or you did that on purpose?

Nonetheless it's a really good lens for the money :)

sorry about that.. Yes it's a good lens for the Money..

Nice work, what's yr setting for these shots using the 11-16? Thanks

I have my tokina 11-16mm which produce soft image compare to my kit lens nikon 18-105mm f3.5-5.6. I tried it over same camera setting with tripod, f8, Iso200, shutter speed 1/3sec, zoom at 16mm(tokina), 18mm(nikon).
Anyone have this problem? Tokina price is twice for nikon 18-105mm, so sad:( should u send the lens back to it's service center? I jz bought it two-three month ago...

You may have back or front focusing issue.... Try to shoot some batteries at different distance using tripod see if you have focusing issue. And pls try to post some photos and exit so we could see and examine the image

Hi guys, finally decide to join this group and after reading all postings, still confused which is best filter to permanently protect the lens, of course this is just personal that i am careless person that may scratch the lens. Some say uv useless but I just can't put the ND filter permanently right? So just get clear mc filter but if it cost the same as Uv, then better to get uv version right?? Thanks!!

you will not be disappointed with B+W filters. :)

thanks Kero, B+W UV or ND or Clear??

Hi, I used the UV in the past. UV/Clear is just to protect the front lens element, although the UV will have coating. I have never used the clear type so I cannot comment.

You wouldn't want to put a ND filter permanently on your lens. It reduces light transmittance which perhaps, good for day time but not good for night time when you doing street shoot.

To summarise

UV/Clear IS NOT USELESS, it protects the front element!
ND is not useful, unless you know what you can and what you want to do with the lens.
