just called my friend... $880 is correct, local set, but before GST.. hahaha.. so works out to be $940, in line with shops like iphoto/john/ms.

Recently I noticed shops tend to quote price w/o GST thru mail, FB & call. This happened to me too.

I use it as a walkabout lens and shoot street pretty often. It depends a lot on your shooting style though

Walkabout to shoot buildings ...Good .. portrait shoot, too wide...

Im on the same boat as you. But i tested 11-16 on events, street and group portraits. So far it can do all. Only take note pf distortion on the face. I think this would suffice what you need

No it doesn't, even for the tokina 12-24mm, if u get the earlier version, also cannot AF on D5100. But if u intend to use this lens for landscape, dun need to worry abt it as, eventually, you will do MF all the way.

Btw I tried shooting @ 11mm w/ ( uv filter + a CPL filter) on this atx 116 pro dx len, I get black shadow on edges (something like vignetting), (btw kit hood is on). Is this normal?
Or I shot remove the uv filter and shoot with just a cpl fillter?

It is vignetting, you should not have stacked the extra UV filter, what's the point anyway? What you caught is the edge of the filter ring, remove the UV filter which serves no purpose.
