Some china brand consider a good filter too as the glass from JAPAN or other country.

Hi, care to share which china brands are considered good?

I am using vitacon pro uv filter on this lens and realise that the ghosting is rather bad when shooting at night.

Was thinking of getting a better filter but would a better filter prevent this ghosting entirely?

Why did you buy a Vitacon filter? Hope you didn't pay too much for it, it's well know that shops like to chop carrots using this brand.

A better filter will reduce the chances of flaring and ghosting caused by the filter but not entirely. The best is to shoot without a filter.

I've never really had issues with ghosting with this lens really..
I'm using B+W…maybe becuase i don't shoot in direct sun often…
Maybe jst remove the filter when you want to shoot in the sun lor..

I got this lens 2nd hand with filter included.

Was thinking of shooting without filter, but afraid of dust and scratches on the front element.

Any brands that are good and not too pricey?

:) May i know what kind of brand of your filter?

I don't use filters unless they are for special purposes like ND or CPL. I would usually go for Kenko or Hoya. Can't afford all the B+W and Lee :bsmilie:

Just got my copy of the Tokina lens. Nice colour and sharp images even from an old sony A300.

This image is direct from camera. No editing done. Only scaled down so file size is smaller.

Without filter will be a wise choice
