good vision from Rooney for the second goal.. Larsson still can play quite well at 35.. Saha should have scored and Rooney also.. anyway 6-point lead maintained.. ;)

Man U seems to be a little off tonight.Esp midway thru the 2nd half, felt like they were juz waiting for the game to end, until HL came on.Phew so worried charlton would equalise:sweat:

I think the reason for such a bad performance is Giggs look out of sorts and Scholes had a really bad game. In the 2nd half, Scholes was just a spectator. He was lazy to win the ball back and when he got the ball, he made just average passes. Many people under estimate Scholes contribution to the team but he is really a very impt player for Man Utd. If he had a bad game, Utd is likely to have a bad game as often, he is the one that initiate attacks with his vision and range of passing. And I think he is also the reason for England's woes after he retired.

Goals coming up this afternoon. Sorry about the delay, working on my macbook lazy to go and find the videos for you guys :bsmilie:

Man U didn't look sharp at all. Fortunately, we still won. I think many of them were tired after their mid week international duty for their respective national team.

It will be interesting if he din retire from international football. Lamp and Gerrard, 1 of them will be bench! :bsmilie:

Kanchelskis calls time on career
Former Manchester United winger Andrei Kanchelskis has retired from football.

Man Utd's 50 years in Europe will feature Becks:

David Beckham will be back at Old Trafford next month after being named first on the all-star Europe XI squad list to face United in the Jubilee Charity Match on 13 March.

Beckham, who gave eleven years' service to the Reds before departing for Real Madrid in 2003, will be joined by Liverpool pair Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher.

The special match marks two jubilees: Manchester United's half-century of involvement in European competitions; and the 50th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome, which laid the foundations for a united Europe. It is being staged by the Manchester United Foundation and UEFA, with support from the European Union. All the proceeds from the celebration match will go to charity.

David Beckham was the first to accept his invitation to the match and is excited about the prospect of returning to Old Trafford. He said: “I'm happy I’m going to play on March 13th. It will be something special to go back to Old Trafford, and I’m really looking forward to it."

He will be joined by former England team-mates Carragher and Gerrard, also named in the all-star European squad selected by Italy’s world champion Marcello Lippi, who will be head coach of the Europe XI.

"It is an honour for our club that two of our players have been selected to represent Europe,” Liverpool boss Rafael Benítez said. “I know that they feel very privileged to be in the team and that they will enjoy playing alongside the top players from other clubs."

“I’m looking forward to the match,” said Gerrard. "It’s a pleasure to play alongside the top players – especially if the match earns some money for charity.”

Carragher added: “I feel proud that a coach like Marcello Lippi has selected me for the European team,” Jamie Carragher comments. “It’s a real honour.”

Sad to see Andrei Kanchelskis retired so soon really miss the days he terrorise the defence!:bsmilie:

Yeah, I would put him in the same league as Keith Gillespie. Both of them, like Ronaldo though not as skillful as him, were always a handful for the opponent with their blistering pace down the flank during the heyday at OT.

All the best Kanchelskis. Sad to hear of your retirement.

I duuno abt u guys but to me he is better then Gillespie!;) Just look at his flanking from the wing no fight like an eagle swopping down at its prey no horse run!:bsmilie:

So soon? It had been more a decade since he is with Man Utd. Yeah it was quite a sight when he is running full speed and the defence backpeddled till they fall on their ass! Then he will go on and whack the ball pass the keeper.

Yes, I think he is much better than Gillespie! He can dribble, fast and most importantly, he can score goals from acute angles, something Gillespie and even Giggs, can't do often. I put him in the league of Giggs and Sharpe!

too bad, he had to make way for young beckham!

Smith to step out of the shadows
He will be a striker this season. Seems like SAF will be relying on him when Larsson returns. Means that Larsson's stay might not get extended.

Marcello Lippi adds 3 more to his Europe XI from Lyon.

Europe XI squad so far
Gregory Coupet (Lyon)
Eric Abidal (Lyon)
Juninho (Lyon)
David Beckham (Real Madrid)
Steven Gerrard (Liverpool)
Jamie Carragher (Liverpool)

Midfield like quite strong! Lippi hell bent on beating Utd! :bsmilie:

haiz.. lots of wasted chances..

Ole's first goal was incorrectly ruled out.. :(

What to do. Many teams doing the attacking have suffered such decisions. It funny as I remembered reading or hearing from TV that FIFA said that refs should give the attacking team the benefit of doubt when its a 50-50 decision but its not the case. Refs are often afraid of giving the goal.

The refs are really getting worst! I really pity Wigan and Jewel. Not only they're robbed, they kenna rape as well! FA wanna charge Jewel but what happen to the ref?

Larsson snubs Man Utd extension

Henrik Larsson will not extend his loan period at Manchester United and is set to leave the club next month.

Quite expected it to happen. Both Utd and Larsson had an agreement with Helsingborg. Now its time for Smith or maybe even Dong to make an impact.

Meanwhile, Bellemy and gang turned Liverpool into a fight club. You'll never fight alone! :bsmilie:

ha.. what a quick free kick from Giggsy..

with 1 away goal, Man U just need a draw at home to go through to quarter-finals.. ;)
