Melvan, not bad pictures, but if its HDR you're not pushing the limits! So far you've only balanced the foreground with the sky, but all the shadows are still hiding your details, such as the window panes... the texture on the wood for the kampungs.

Anyway I like 'Evening Mekong' one of the best... the picture in the church looks very weird, like the camera selected the wrong WB?

And Rob, great catch of the cool kid! One great candid moment.

I'm quite new to HDR still..haha

But i'll take note :P

Yeah, evening mekong is also my favourite. :)

the church was very very dark, its hard to take a good picture, especially without tripod and low iso...

How it looks like now is definitely much much more brighter than it was.

Hi Guys !

Had fun with the company but sadly fishes were not biting.
Rob took a couple of pictures of the location in the early morning .

Any way for tomorrows outing i have something on on will not be able to make it, got work in the morning till afternoon,
Dont noe if im able to make it still.

P.s Sky guy, ill call you later in the afternoon to see where u guys are and maybe join u guys then .

Hi guys, (big yawn) yeah Vinze kept me out all last night fishing, feel like a dead duck today. Should be better after a decent sleep tonight, will meet you guys as planned at City Hall control centre at 12:30, OK?.
Yesterday morning I was out in the grounds of my wife's son's condo, playing around with my Raynox and a security guard came up to me and asked if I had clearance to take pictures. I asked why and was told that a resident had complained about a strange man taking photos. I told the guard I was taking photos of flowers and showed the guard the pictures. I was not near any apartments and was pointing away from the buildings. I went to the front office identified my self with id and assured them I was not a threat to anyone. Some people are so paranoid about cameras????!!!!!
Well tomorrow morning I am planning on going out by the pool to take photos, my question is "Where can I buy a mankini to wear while shooting?", I'll give them something to complain about.
Whinging sods!

Some people are like that, they are afraid of people who will invade their privacy..

Anyway, went to check out the new MRT station today, its not open for public yet, its called "Pioneer" It will be one stop west of "Boon Lay"

Melvan, first one not bad...HDR attempt right? Can see the balance of tones better, contrast is there too. 2nd and third one... well... eventually you'll get bored of posting these kind of pictures! haha. Not worth posting unless you work for the MRT.

Suggestion for your nick: And Leaves photographers happy, always. (which is a marketing lie!)

And Rob, you should scold the guard! You have every right to shoot, no one buys an FZ18 for nothing! It is not against the law. In fact, by right if you do 'catch' anything unsightly, you have the right to sue owners for not practicing discretion, even if its in their homes. lol

Enjoy the shoot tomorrow guys, see you all soon. I can't decide how to pack my gear. =(

haha, i post the second and third one just to tell ppl it is called pioneer station, nothing much

The main picture is the first :P

i hoping tat they have a station link all the way into ntu... but i guess tat will not happen yet... haha

Hi everyone, so what is the number of participants for tomorrow?

u guys have fun. post more picture to make me feel guilty for not coming. lol

how do u guys make the HDR effect?
capture a few photos of the same scene, with different exposures. like maybe 3 photos of -2ev 0ev +2ev. or 5 photos of -2 -1 0 +1 +2

After capturing them, you can use photoshop or a HDR program such as photomatix to combine them. The effect after processed is called HDR

in that case I shall start posting pictures of 'tomorrow' to make ricsal guilty...

just fyi, I didn't edit the sky's color... there was this greenish cast in the sky that day... I merely pushed the contrast up.

Great LOMO-ish effect bro. I love Lomo. :)
You already start to make me feel guilty. Next outing I promised I'll go.

It was natural by the way... somehow my lens at 55mm gives a natural light fall-off... and the weird part about the green sky lol, they looked grey to my eyes on that day.

Anyway yea, pretty cool, I was quite suprised when I was changing the contrast, I suddenly saw this.
