Thoughts on LEICA M ?

He is a very good picture taker, and I really like his b&w conversions.

I read Sean Reid's review of the new Leica M, and it seems a clear bit better and more usable than the M9, but still behind the MM in terms of ISO and details.

It is to be expected. The MM has no color filter whatsoever, and thus less information is lost.

Placing 11th overall but 21st for Dynamic Range, 17th for Color Sensitivity and 13th for Low-Light ISO demonstrates the new Leica M is a good all rounder but not particularly strong in any one category.

i use to have some trouble with the rangefinder calibration with various adaptors which mount S-mount lenses to the M bodies... but the evf and focus peaking of the M240 could potentially get around this. output from this lens is absolutely wonderful, but whether this is enough to make me buy the M240... eerrr, i think money no enough...

3 Leica shops, Raffles, Mandarin Gallery and Ion.

4 Leica dealers, Alan/Lumen, Cathay, Click/Max and Gopes.

Numbers quite limited, some got 1 unit, some got as many as 5. Both black and silver were delivered.

There is another batch coming in next week. Not sure when yet.

As for price, there is only 1 price in Singapore.

For those that have the M and the EVF, is it me or does it not fit flush together. There is about 1 to 2mm of the connector that does not fit all the way in.

The EVF does not flush fit.
I hear from many the olympus EVFll fits but not EVFlll.
I have the EVFll used on my PEN2 but have never tried on my on my M240.

I would get the Leica M if luck befalls on me to hit group 1 in Toto prize money. It would be nice to really have a digital M but I just cant justify the purchase.

I've been shooting film Ms for quite awhile, under heavy dust conditions, below freezing temp + rain, dry heat
So far, it doesnt have weather sealings, an LCD or high iso but it is still pushing pictures out.

Film never die, and shoting film in Leica is more fun than clicking the digital shutter release....
